First.....Bryson and Shanks are rated as a 3 star and finished with a talent grade of 87 overall by 247...just throwing it out there.
Second....I know for a fact that West Tenn has been overlooked for years concerning talent, ....especially in the smaller school systems. Oh yeah..Jerry Reese that was talked about a few post earlier who played very well for UT martin and led his high school team to a state championship was from a little town called Tiptonville, TN aka Lake County Falcons. These small schools like Milan, Lake County, Humboldt, Brownsville, ETC., usually don't have connected coaches who can get their kids exposure.
I played at Dyersburg High in the middle 90's and had to send out my own D*** VHS video to even get looked at by bigger schools. I had all of the accolades from being all state to all region 7-4a starting from my sophomore year, but no exposure due to playing on a losing team. It happens and sucks when your on the opposite end of the state, but kids go unnoticed every year on this end of the state. It does, over time, send the wrong message to kids in West Tenn. However, ole miss, arkansas, alabama and all the FCS schools say thanks. However, I received a scholarship to play for Houston Nutt at Murray State and had a great career there with 2 OVC championships. So it worked out.
IMO, this Bryson kid is light years ahead of Alan Carson and others on talent alone. He is 6'4 and 285 right now with very good feet and explosiveness. This is the kind of kid with proper S & C that could be a big time contributer by year 2. Ole Piss is knocking on his door and Tenn better get to courting him before its too late.
