As for Kohler, he looks the way an interior offensive lineman is supposed to look. He weighed in at 330 pounds, but you would have never guessed he was that heavy. He was offered today and Kohler said that the coaches like his strength, footwork and aggressiveness. It's interesting in that he camped Tuesday and did all the drill work. He didn't just watch. He got the offer today and continued to be a full participant at camp and he is going to compete again tomorrow before leaving Thursday morning. His grandfather who is originally from Nashville flew from Hawaii with him and is going with him to see UGA and Alabama.

Distance is something Kohler said he would have to really think about and visit with his family about. He really likes Tennessee alot and said they were high on his list. He won't do anything till the Army game most likely.

"I love the campus. I love the locker room, the stadium, the academic center where you get help in. I'm loving Tennessee right now," Koehler said."Coach Pitt (Sam Pittman) has been my main recruiter. It's been good. He's a lot like my coach back home so I'm liking it.

"Tennessee offered today. I was pretty shocked they offered. I was happy though."

"I kind of knew I wanted or would like to play in the SEC," Koehler offered. "But then there's the travel from home. It's definitely a talk I have to have with my family.

"The relationship with the coach and the academic help that I can get," Koehler cited as two key factors in his decision. "Tennessee is definitely in my top (list of schools). I definitely like the area. I'm enjoying it."

I noticed he was wearing braces on both knees. Nothing to worry about as its a common thing for support and preventative? Or does he have issues/injuries already? Just wondering...

Also..some are saying we r looking at him at center...has he played at center? May be wrong be thought center was something that isn't best just picked up in college. Just wondering...

Thanks.

Unless he plays for Hawaii, distance is basically a wash. What's an extra 3 hours on a plane?

I lived in Hawaii for ten years. The difference is more than 3 hours; LA to Atlanta, then Atlanta to K'ville plus waiting around in airports. Very tiring.

Sorry to rain on your parade. :hi:

No wonder the manhunt for you was so unsuccessful. They were looking for you in the continental southwest :)

Was that sarcasm? For the 3-4 flights a year, 3 hours is tiring? You just couldn't stand that extra 3 hours to play football at a school and in the conference you really want? Players from Hawaii should only play at school that can offer 1 stop flights instead of 2 stops? I hope you weren't being serious.

I went to Honolulu when I was in 8th grade, it was a very long 13 hours for us to get there. Very tiring to say the least.

St.Louis is a private school and they recruit some of the best in Honolulu. They are stacked every year. St. Louis has a great staff and take care of their players. He would be a great steal for us if he commits.

Looks like Georgia offered. Do not think Alabama has offered yet.

247 & Scout show an Oregon offer - may have already had one - cannot remember if I noticed that before.

Apparently we made his top 5 and he really enjoyed his visit. Ga, tn, Hawaii, Kansas, and one more open spot that he is currently narrowing down.

Kansas?

Great news! It looks like if he's willing to leave hawaii he's open to going anywhere.

There will be a ton of pressure on him to stay in Hawaii.

"If he travels all the way to the south then I believe he will be a Vol. I don't see Kansas as a factor. I would think that Oregon will very likely be the fifth school. If the distance is not too much for him and his family then I think Tennessee has a great chance at landing him." - Hubbs
