Its just unbelievable to me and i get the instate tuition thing. I just can't deal with people making pledges to a school and embracing the tradition, then switching as soon as "something better" comes along.

Plus the UM thing is beyond annoying right now, I HATE him.

Agreed. I said earlier in this thread that we should give him a scholarship. If he is good enough to bring in we can afford to use one on him. Obviously money isn't a huge issue because he turned down several full scholarships to come here.

Obviously if he comes here he is hoping to get a scholarship at some point. He may be waiting now to see if CBJ wants to go ahead and offer him one. I hope we don't and I don't think we will since we already have 4 kickers on scholarship. (Brodus may just be for spring semester though)

I'm sick of Urban sticking his goofy looking head where it doesn't belong. He's making this personal. Butch needs to lock this kid up. Regardless if he's just a walk on kicker or not, he's solid and has a good leg and we could use a good kicker. We need to hold onto him and not let Urban steal this one out from under us.

To be fair though, UT is the one coming from out of state for this kid.

I agree with that. But Urban wasn't even pushing for this kid till now. Besides, Butch still has ties to Ohio and Michigan from his previous gigs. Hopefully Gantz remembers who gave him his shot first. I understand it's just a walk-on spot, but still.

I highly highly doubt over $20,000 a year isn't a huge issue for the family. Maybe they want their kid to be happy and are willing to work thier butts off for him. Maybe Gantz doesn't want the burden of his parents having to pay $20,000 a year when he can go to another elite school for far less money and somewhere closer to his friends.

We don't even know if his offer at Cincinatti was still available. Jones was the one that offered him, not Tubberville. So it may have just been Utah or some other smaller school or play at an elite program like UT.

If Gantz stays committed to us and we play OSU and have a big lead, I am still okay with a roughing the kicker call. Especially if we hit him to where he rolls into CUM.

If he can kick give him a scholarship, we have some left. If he can't then let him go. We need consistency in the kicking game. A good kicker is worth the scholarship.

I'm ready for CUM to lose a few games and go bawling butt up on the carpet again...hauled away in a freaking ambulance. Does OSU play any SEC teams this year?
