I hear you guys have Clark sewn up. Good get.
Well it's big news obviously that he's visiting for the Florida game, but I found something in Quinn's article interesting, or odd may be the better word.
"Of all the recruits UT is eying from Memphis, Williams has the greatest chance of landing with the Vols."
Now when I first read that I blew by it, figuring maybe it was just his opinion, or writers speak. Well someone asked him on twitter, better chance of Jwlll than with Hubbs or Nichols?, he replied "that's what I'm told by someone I trust."
Now being as closely connected to the program as he is, I put a lot of trust in him saying that. He's not your typical "insider" or whatever, he knows people, who would absolutely know, so this is a strong statement by him.
Now, you can choose to take it 2 ways. 1. That we aren't in that good of shape with Nichols and Hubbs, and so by process of elimination that'd leave Jwlll. However, knowing what we know, I don't think that's the case, so I'm taking it this way...Galilee had said if he decided today Jwlll would be a Vol, looking like he might be right. Think we're in great with Nichols and Hubbs, but it's appearing that Jwlll is a STRONG Tennessee lean.
TIFWIW JMO
Actually the guy asked him, better than our chances with HUBBS and Nichols, and he said yes that's what he told. So while he doesn't consider hubbs from Memphis, he is saying he's told our chances are best with Jwlll.
Interesting considering Hubbs' recruitment has been public and JWIII isn't.
I still think Hubbs, Nichols, JW3 are Vols. Any signs point to JW3 as a Vol. I think Nichols is just playing the game. Hubbs I'm not as confident about.
Yea, that's why I found it very interesting. If there's anyone who would know, it'd be Quinn, he's as close to the basketball program as anyone, and for all we know CCM may have gave him this info. No matter who it was though, he's not gonna say it if it isn't from a strong source who he absolutely trusts.
I think all 3 are too, and I'd agree with you on that order as well of most likely to least likely. In the end though, I see all 3 coming to Tennessee.
On a side note...it'll be interesting to see if we get those 3, and Landry/Samuel, do we take Stephens, foster or Davis? Those 3 are all good players and IMO would be better contributors than Reese...
And it's a big risk considering how quiet JW3 has been. Not like it's a public recruitment.
I do too.
I honestly think, at minimum, we take five. One of Reese/Q isn't going to be here at the end of the year. And I think Stokes is going pro.
So I think we will get six. My predictions for four, five, six guys:
Four
Hubbs
JW3
Nichols
Jarquez Smith
Five
Hubbs
JW3
Nichols
Smith
Landry
Six
Hubbs
JW3
Nichols
Smith
Landry
Davis/Stephens
