'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

I guess he will OV after the season.

Not sure on this if anyone else may know, but in order to take an OV does the student have to have a certain test score or just have taken the test? I think I remember that being involved in the criteria to be allowed to take an OV somewhere.

Edit: Found this, not sure if it requires a qualifying score however. May explain why he hasn't scheduled an OV.

What must the school have from me before I take an official visit?

The recruiting institution must have a high school or a college transcript and ACT or SAT test scores on file before you take an official visit there.

Yeah. I bet you're right. Would make sense.

With the other LBs coming in this year with Bryant, and C. Cherry next, we have gone from a weekness on this team, to a strength, with very good depth.

He has a score just not a good one. As long as he has taken it he can OV. This isn't the reason he hasn't OVed yet

Link?

I think you're right I just couldn't find anything specifically stating that in my admittedly brief search on this.

We need to see how JRM, King, Bynum, and Harris develop before we can say we have very good depth. If all the freshman play well, along with Weatherd, and JRM, Bynum, and one of King/Harris play well then we may have some good depth in 2015. Elliot may also play OLB here, and we will still have Maggit next year. I will say it's looking a lot more promising, but until all these guys are on campus in Orange I'm still going to be worried. We need ever LB commit we have to sign with us come Feb., and we must recruit great LBs in 2015 as well.

Ryan C. over on 247 added this on Bryant over on the 247 board:

During my conversation with Tennessee linebacker commitment Gavin Bryant of Jackson (Ala.) High School last night, I asked Bryant — because I know many people have been wondering — how much the Vols' performance this season might affect his commitment to Tennessee.

Here was his answer:

“They could go 0-10, 0-15 and I’m going to still be there," Bryant said.

Boom worthy.

Don't have a link but I am 110% certain that taking the test is all that matters.

Think about how many visits take place and kids still don't have qualifying scores.

I'm fairly certain I remember reading this at some point too.
