'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Ryan C. over on 247 added this on Bryant over on the 247 board:

During my conversation with Tennessee linebacker commitment Gavin Bryant of Jackson (Ala.) High School last night, I asked Bryant — because I know many people have been wondering — how much the Vols' performance this season might affect his commitment to Tennessee.

Here was his answer:

“They could go 0-10, 0-15 and I’m going to still be there," Bryant said.

Boom worthy.

That article is nothing to worry about.

It's an Alabama based source with an obvious slant to its audience. Relax.

I don't see anything new on Bryant on the GV247 board or the main board (Blue Board). I may have missed it, but maybe the poster was referring to the article I already posted.

Midseason Review from Bama Rivals...

12. Gavin Bryant, three-star linebacker, Jackson High School
Previous Rank: 15
Stock: Up
Quick thoughts: Bryant is the leader for his team's defense which hasn't given up many points this season. Jackson High School is the No. 2 team in Class 5A. Bryant is big, physical, fast, and a sideline-to-sideline player.
Recruitment: Tennessee commitment

0-15? I hope he is ready for that test! Unless he was going off a 1.5 season possible record which he probably was...

Hablo Espanol tambien. He said if Tenn went 0-15 he would still show up. There has been plenty of skepticism that he may not be eligible because of test scores. In college football there are not 15 game seasons, so 0-15 is impossible. Hence, I went with the 1.5 season reference (making a jab at testing for math). Comprende? :hi:

Got it. Thanks. I thought TPedigo was hacking accounts for a second but there was to much punctuation.

Well that's not right either. A 1.5 season would be 18 games not 15...

I believe a new rivals update is coming out next month. Hopefully they give him a nice bump.

Bryant's team prevails in battle of the unbeatens

The importance of this game is not lost on the players. The Aggies defense spent the week focusing on how to stop the running game of the Spartans. Tennessee commitment, Senior Linebacker, Gavin Bryant shared what his focus will be.

“The key for me…I got to read the fullback,” Bryant said. That’s what I’ve got to do all night. Pretty much, reading the fullback will take you wherever the ball’s going to be in “I” formation. That’s what I’m going to do.”

“It’s going to be pretty good because the last couple of times we played them, we had to go to Saraland,” Bryant pointed out. “Now their coming to Jackson…home of the mighty Aggies. We’re going to try and put it to them.”
