'14 AL LB Gavin Bryant (UT Signee 2/5/14)

When will the next rankings update be and any Vols getting bumps?

The Vols class is absolutely loaded. Of their 28 commits 16 prospects have a 5.8 Rivals Rating or higher thus their No. 2 position in the team rankings. That is a pretty impressive haul for first year head coach Butch Jones. Keep an eye on Jackson (Ala.) linebacker Gavin Bryant possibly making a move. He is having a good senior campaign and he will be evaluated again before the next rankings release. We also just got new senior film on Tampa (Fla.) Plant offensive tackle Ray Raulerson. Raulerson is a versatile tackle that could earn a bump up from mid three-star to high three-star if his film checks out. The updated Rivals.com rankings will be released in November.

Before someone freaks out, when he says Bryant making a move, he means in the Rivals rankings. Probably a bump to a 5.8 4*.

good stuff. hope he makes it in

anybody know if the grades situation changed at all? Need some quality depth at linebacker the next few years and he will be great here imo

Is Raulerson even in our class score calculation right now since I think only the top 20 count? I'm still blown away by the class we're bringing in.

We likely won't have any 3 stars in our top 20 calculation on NSD. Should have 20+ 4/5 stars in this class when it's done.

That's just crazy. And people thought it wasn't possible to pull classes like this without winning big first.

Bryant had five tackles for Jackson as they remained unbeaten and knocked off Thomasville 39-17. Next week the playoffs start and Jackson hosts Leflore.

LWS just said "things are looking a lot better" with him academically. Still crossing my fingers, but it sounds like he's good to go.

Boom.

Hope Gavin sees who was there for him when not many were. Amazing pickup here.

Boom! Dude is one of the best players in our recruiting class.

And good friends with Cecil the Diesel. Lets get this kid in school..

Great news if true. This kid is going to be a great SEC player. A key part of getting the defense back to being physical and feared.

Just curious, but do you guys find that Gavin has been somewhat quiet since the day he committed?

He has. Not alot of stuff coming out about him. I tell myself it was because he was buckled down and staying focused on getting qualified. That was my hope anyway.

JACKSON, Alabama – Jackson star quarterback and Georgia Tech commitment Matthew Jordan went down with a knee injury on his team’s fifth play of the game Friday night....Jackson knocked off Briarwood Christian 24-7 in the Press-Register Game of the Week, setting up next week’s battle of unbeatens between the Aggies and No. 1 Spanish Fort in Spanish Fort.

The unheralded story could be the play of the Jackson defense, which limited the Lions to just 202 total yards, including 54 yards passing.

I have a strong feeling that this kid will be our "Cam Sutton" of the '14 class. Quiet, flying under the radar, but is going to fill a huge need and play his butt off for the orange and white.

I have a feeling that Auburn will be after Bryant hard when his grades are for sure good enough to get into school. There's a pretty good chance that Rashaan Evans flips to Bama, so AU will have a hole to fill. I hope Gavin remembers who had faith in him when his chances of getting into school looked bleak.
