I would say he had plenty of chances if that was the case. However I thought we were recruiting him as a corner now?

Hate to hear that. But if somehow we get Gaulden,Smith, or Lammons out of it I'll be thrilled. Can't get em all!

Truitt is a freak athlete. Missing out on him is not a "no-big-deal" kind of thing. IMO JMO TIFWIW

It seems Butch doesn't allow guys to commit if they're going to take more visits, if they're not 100% sure. If you look at quotes from each commit they all have said they're done with recruiting and won't take other visits and will begin to help recruit to build up UT's class.

With Powell committing however, if Truitt does end up a Vol, I think it will be if we miss on some higher priority DBs. Basically I think that with Powell in the fold, Truitt likely ends up on D.

Hope his offer is still good. Maybe if he decides pretty soon, we still have room. If he is planning to wait till NSD, I think he loses his spot. I feel ANY recruit who is planning to wait till NSD will not have a spot held at Tennessee. If CBJ's and staff are trying to fill the class now vs waiting kids out, I'm all for it. More kids recruiting their peers in the 14', 15', 16' classes the better for us in the long run.

Personally I like the fact that we are running out of space, gives us the opportunity to really choose fantastic athletes.

I really really want this guy! He is much faster than BP and really athletic/explosive. Hope we can and will still take this guy.

Callahan said the only way we take him now would be at DB. I am curious to see how much of a priority he will be with guys like Lammons, DJ Smith and of course Gaulden out there.

I think the kid is still a take as of now. IF the staff was ready to eliminate his spot they would tell him and he would have a decision to make. IF he had to decide now or risk it, I think he would be a Vol. His twitter is all Vol and I think the kid is as well.

I get what you are saying, but keep in mind that we still have a season to play. ALOT of things can happen throughout the course of the season. We can have a steller season and gain momentum with other prospects not already on our board, or have a 4-8 year (Like CBJ had his first season at Cinci) and suffer attrition R/T negative recruiting. One also has to factor in the "fired coaching staff" factor that inevitably happens after every season freeing up committed prospects year in and year out.

I think the safe bet is fill the class now with kids that can play in the SEC. If we shock some people and have a better than 6-7 win season, great. We will see the benefit from that in the 2015 class. If we have a 5-6 win season having 80%+ of the class done prior to it sets us up to have them stick together as they have been together so long. I can understand both sides of it. Coming off 3 losing seasons, I think filling the class now while we are hot makes a lot of sense.
