'14 GA S Cortez McDowell (UT Signee 2/5/14)

UTs reputation has been better as of the last few years than UGA. You have the Pilot story in 2009. Cam clear who was dismissed. And Rogers who was booted. It hasn't been near as bad as UGA lately. You guys start every single year with 2+ players suspended. It's a given every year. What does the coaches have to do with it? Why not blame Richt who lets the inmates run the asylum? Willie Martinez and Jancek weren't out there on campus making kids act like morons.

The blame points to the top. Always to the top. Fulmer let things get out of hand. USC is a joke currently. And ESPN may like to blow smoke up Urban's butt but all of Florida's issues/head scratchingly mysterious half game suspensions were his fault. The head guy needs his expectations clear and a firm grip on his subordinates and players.

Maybe it's a good thing Vonn Bell didn't come here. He might have got passed on the depth chart by these guys anyway.

Yes sir. All points to Richt being a pushover

We have our fair share. Trust me, very comparable.

Most suspensions come from weed tests. UGA has the toughest policy.

We have our own morons who get kicked out as well, like most schools.

I understand that, but let me make my point.

1. You have to understand the author of the article. He will push for quotes that will get attention. He does it all the time, regardless of the team.

2. UT has just as bad of a reputation as most SEC schools that deal with off the field issues.

3. The UT defensive coaches are the same coaches who were here at UGA when players were getting in trouble.

I have nothing against the kid. Those things stood out to me when reading the article.

..."UGA insider then flipped his bangs to the back to the left side of his head in frustration... knowing that in fact, the team that he and all his fraternity brothers had grown up loathing so much, the Tennessee Volunteers are back where they belong."

Mark Richt is not a great example of a head man in control. It all starts from the top.

CBJ hasn't had to cross any rough waters yet so the jury is still out. But Richt has been around long enough to have put a cap on the amount of off the field issues. He hasn't. And honestly I don't really think his moral fiber is as high as people want to believe. Like most people, winning is all that matters to him.

Can you really babysit 100+ college student athletes. IMPOSSIBLE, can't control that.

What you can do is control the way you discipline them.

That is a problem that every coach has to deal with, even the almighty Bammers.

A good UT team is good for the SEC EAST.

You said precisely that in what I quoted.

Hey, I don't care. I just liked the McDowell quote. I know we ain't perfect, but we get to play the clean slate card until some dudes get in trouble under this coaching staff.

Ok, cool. Find me the quote where I said that and you win.

And yes, no program is perfect.

Anybody know how an athlete plays football and baseball at the same time from a scheduling standpoint. Do they interfere in any way with each other? Can it affect development?

Yeah... but Richt seems to have more trouble with that than other coaches. You cannot deny that.

I'm not really sure how this kid is a FS as opposed to a SS.

He is clearly big, fast, agile, and strong, but 95% of his highlights are him tackling a RB.
