To me they are two very different type of LB prospects. CG to me is college ready right now and would likely start day #1 at Tennessee. Very physical and very instinctive and ready to play right now.

I know people keep saying MLB on Johnson but I also think he could be a hell of an OLB as well with his explosiveness and athleticism. I see a lot of Maggitt when he was in HS in him with simply more size and strength. He is a complete freak athletically and he'd be ridiculous coming off the edge in blitzing situations.

I haven't seen enough tape to know whether he has the potential to be as disruptive a force, but Jakob is almost identical in size to an Alabama linebacker by the name of Cornelius Bennett.

not only do we have a sick LB class, but remember that Deshaun Davis was going to commit to UT before he got the Auburn offer. wouldve been sick to have him too

as of this morning but this is a situation in flux so keep checking back as those percentages shift.

Bama
FSU
UT

BUT I think Raekwon changes the dynamic and would make OSU easily pass us if he decides for them

I think the point of the best would be how would you take the LB positions that you have. UA runs a 3-4 so they can full 4 postions, and most others run a 4-3.

I love the class we are bringing in but honestly can they even closely compete with SDH, Whitley, Miller and Clark? No way

The problem with us being number 1 is you can only play in a 4-3 defense the amount of linebackers we have spots for. First off the recruits UA has is just unfair in that number. FSU has Daub and Purifoy who would usually come in and get significant playing time at any school as a Fr.

Agreed. We have Bates, Mouhon, Johnson, a Juco LB, and a wrecker out of Bama. That's not including Dews and Elliott Berry. I just like our LB class a lot.

SDH and Whitley are real good backers also. It just depends on someone's opinion.

I originally thought UT, but Bama has to be the best.

Bates and Bryant is as good as any LB duo in the country, IMO.

The Johson commit was likely an acknowledgement that we weren't going to get him. Maybe like Owen Williams was an acknowledgement that we were out of the picture with Lamin and Reed.

I knew us losing to 4 straight to Bamer, Mizzou, Auburn and Vandy would make CBJ's sales pitch a much, much harder sell.

I don't agree with the vandy game having anything to do with Garrett as I believe he has been Lsu for a few weeks and I also think williams only tells us one of lamin/reed is out.

Fine doesn't do this LB class justice. It's one of the top 3 in the country already IMO.
