TW, is he gonna get any playing time? I'm kinda surprised yal pushed for him. I assumed yal are deep with all the 4/5* dline players. I thought early in reeds recruiting process he mentioned playing time being important.

Yes the one place we lack depth is at DT. Especially when playing in our 4 man front which is half of D schemes in games. We currently have 12 DL on scholarship, 2 or 3 will graduate, one seems to be headed out(transfer), of the others left 3 play in the inside. Tomilson who remains injured, Ivory when not injured is a NT, and Lake who has had some good moments. The need for DTs is one of the biggest in this class along with DBs. Every JUCO under Saban has seen the field their 1st year and I think only 2 have not started but still were in the 2 deep and played significant time.

Also the word form our paysites lately is one of our current commits a DT may not qualify.

it’s worth noting that reed was very high on alabama last year before he ultimately signed with florida as a 2013 prospect, so the vols might face an uphill battle to turn him away from the crimson tide. But jones and a couple of ut’s assistant coaches still might try to visit reed and his family next week in north carolina before the start of the early junior-college signing period on dec. 18.

Was driving home and got to TV just in time to see kickoff so I missed it.

Some Texas guys I know say he is very much in play.

We will see but Mack is out and will get some kind of title like AD over football.

UA's most impressive DL player, IMO, is true Frosh A'Shawn Robinson. Guy is a beast. He's so active with his hands. Probably the most disruptive player they have.

Haven't heard much out of Dee Liner though.

I've got a sneaking suspicion he may take it. Before the Auburn loss I thought he would stay but after the way the fans have went off on him and the team, he may say screw it, I'll go where I'm appreciated.

Especially when you have 'fans' shooting other 'fans' because they weren't upset enough by a loss. I know we have our crazies, but even in the 90s and the early 2000s when we were winning a lot of games, I don't remember anything like that.

Sand,

I think we are seeing alot of things that are just wrong now being played out by fans who have let true perspective get clouded by sports. In the end, it is still just a game.

Is it a foregone conclusion that Mack Brown is gone at season's end?

They hired a new AD who may want to bring in his own guy. Still, hard to believe they'd fire a guy who took the to the conference championship.

They don't have a championship game anymore. He will NOT be AD but will make a position for him. Heard something like AD over football who will be under main AD.

Bama doesn't have good corners, so Saban can't man up the WRs like he is accustomed to, which takes the safeties further from the line of scrimmage. Bama is also missing a dominant NT. The two they have are injury prone and can't clog the inside by themselves. This is what a good 3-4 must have.

Spread Bama out and run it up the middle... this will continue to haunt Bama until they upgrade those units.

Sounds so easy yet I wonder why very few teams can figure out how to beat Saban? All you have to do is run it up the gut right?

I detect your sarcasm, but i will respond anyways. Obviously you need a good enough OL to do it, but that is what Auburn did. Alabama doesn't look like they will have a great NT anytime soon either.

Did you see where the CBS guys interviewed Saban before the SECCG and gave him the chance to shoot down the Texas rumors and he didn't?

Learned his lesson from his past IMO. Want him out of the SEC so Bama becomes beatable again.
