With Lamin basically off the board, this one hurts.

Will be interesting to see if they press for Heurtolu (sp???), look elsewhere, or just focus on other positions.

This would've been almost as big a pickup as Malone.

Auburn had its way with the interior of Bama's DL... I think he will get playing time there. Bama has some weak points at DB and DL.

This ^^^ he was a huge need for us and I wish we had gotten him but...... I would be surprised if he isn't heavily in the rotation at bama.

It just clarifies what everyone on here knew that Mosley is committing to UT. Saban not having to prep for a game this weekend has been on the road every day recruiting. He knows Mosley going elsewhere so he pushes for a commit from Reed.

You do realize the ignorance of this post, don't you? He's good enough to play somewhere else but not Alabama?

Obviously somebody plays and somebody rides the pine on every team no matter what the quality of player is from 1-85. Do you really think good teams sign a bunch of garbage players to ride the pine just so those garbage players don't end up actually playing for other teams.

I would think if they really thought the player was no good they would not waste a scholarship on him and actually want that garbage player playing for one of its opponents.

TW, is he gonna get any playing time? I'm kinda surprised yal pushed for him. I assumed yal are deep with all the 4/5* dline players. I thought early in reeds recruiting process he mentioned playing time being important.

RE: why does Alabama need this guy?

They miss (former DL coach) Bo Davis. Chris Rumph is a great recruiter, but not as good of a coach. And (outside linebackers coach) Lance Thompson is not as good as Sal. So they have to cover up coaching deficiencies with more talent.

I hate losing Reed, but I never really thought he was going to be an option. Not because he was being steered, but because he wanted 3-4.

Tennessee did get some bad news on Wednesday as Alabama landed a commitment from junior college defensive tackle Jarran Reed. If you've been reading these nightly updates this week you knew that Alabama was a bigger player than some were giving them credit and while the timing was surprising the vibe around Reed the last 42 or so hours was very much in favor of Alabama.

Now, don't look for the Vols to quit there as it wouldn't be a surprise to see Jones and his staff try and get one more visit with Reed.
