What I saw when I first watched his tape was that he was unbelievably nimble for a giant. What I saw from video (level of competition) didn’t give me a good feeling as to how strong this guy is. Since I figured they weren’t going to go for any guys this big (honestly didn’t expect them to be recruiting Mosley for that matter), I never thought it mattered to comment on it.

I say that to say I think Alabama is recruiting the heck out of the kid BECAUSE he’s a five-star talent, rather than the other way around. They obviously have more to go on than one Hudl video.

One rating service has him way up there, but I think the UA staff wants him because he fits perfect for a 3-4 system. UK will be hard to beat for him in the end though.

Interesting that he would show up w/out an offer. Maybe the coaches told him that is what has to happen for him to get offered? Doubt we are a factor with this kid.

Wharton and other recruits have been recruiting him hard lately. I bet the coaches told him they want to see his size in person before offering.

UK campus.. literally one of the worst places I've ever been in my life. Tailgating is MEH at best, and the campus rivals only a high school campus..

If there was no differing opinions on ratings/rankings that would be a bigger crock of ****

Its best that one set of eyes sees one thing and a different set see something else.

Its actually funny when people think that a guy should be a 5 * across the board on any and every site.

You should learn to appreciate opinions especially when they are informed.

Just making kids the same level in rankings would be a travesty and would mean people arent actually doing any leg work.

"Oh 24/7 has him as a 5*, we should boost him to 5* too" is that what you want?

247 pulled crap like that with Lawrence Lee. They had him highly ranked in the 90s coming out of jr year then they saw no ther site had him that high and dropped him. Instant credibility loss

On this note, 247's article on the new rankings has some good feedback on rankings. I think this is pretty informative as this board always has the same question.

Q: Just a quick question. FSU has a DT committed in Christmas and he has shutdown his recruitment completely (including camps and stuff) to focus on being a Nole and getting ready for college.

Because of that he dropped in the rankings. I wouldn't have cared if people had passed him and moved up over him but he dropped from a 93 to a 92.

This is after we got a update from our site staff that he had dropped most of his bad weight and looked the best he has ever had during Spring Practice.

Any reason for him dropping when the only new info out about him in the past 4+ months has been positive?

A: (JC Shurburtt) We still have a lot of questions about his ability, if he's OL/DL long term and his ultimate upside. There are a lot of other prospects- linemen and otherwise- we like better.

I think he's one we may end up being wrong on- he and Khari Clark both- if they get it together and perform well this season.

Point is- these rankings are representative of their projections as of right now. That can always change and will be something we continue to monitor.

The questions grow because of a lack of new material to evaulate or another person looked at his film and added to the evaluations?

A: (JC Shurburtt) It's mostly because rankings are comparisons and so many more rise. It's much more mechanized because we order them individually rather than grouping them. I mean prospects are grouped (5 star, 4 star, etc.) but when you are ranking 1-247 you can get to a point where you have to just drop guys out and re-asses.

The reason we dropped Christmas? One "he looks good and like he's lost weight" wasn't enough to counteract the other negatives that forced him down by comparison. It didn't answer the questions. Maybe we kept his projection higher than we should have in hopes that we would get some answers.

And answers don't have to come at camps and combines. We have guys ranked who never camp anywhere.

Yeah he's a take. I wonder if he's ranked that way purely on his upside? I don't think you should rank anyone for that, but it's all I can think of.

I am not sold on this kid. I lived there for a while and football is second rate.
Competition is terrible. People go to football
Games to see the marching bands, which are amazing.

I just see him being a bust where ever he goes. JMO

If this kid is so good, why is he not in Louisville at Trinity? His film shows that he has never been challenged. Plays way too high and still dominates the 180 lb guards.
