Was said on Hooker show that Barnett hurt his back and may need surgery. TIFWIW

Edit: Can't find any other info on this. Just wondering if true.

Not sure I would count on that. If the kid is paying attention to the other offers going out to DTs, he knows we were not full. He might have wanted to be a Vol enough to look past it. I think he would be the #1 take as a HS DT who could play early. Coaches seem to think otherwise.

what if he was told we are full on High School DT's ??

He could have been told that. I still think he would have an easy time thinking it were true. Barnett and Mosley both took visits to rival schools just this past weekend. If they are silent UT commits, they are sure going about it differently than the rest have. I love the idea of taking the TN kids no matter what position they play. I just think C. Williams would have seen reps at DT before either of them at Tennessee. If he did have off the field stuff going on, it is what it is and I understand passing on him.

If we got Barnett, Mosley, and Hendrix, I would be cool with finishing off with the Berry Brother, Blair, and Adoree Jackson. (Personal dream scenario)

If be cool with that too even though Hendrix is a DE and I'd like to take 4 DTs in this class (Lambert, Barnett, Mosley, and 1 more..preferably Elam but I know we're behind KY and AL). Is your scenario counting Dews as a GS or as a part of the 2014 class? Because if you're counting him as part of the 14 class we could open up another spot (for a DT or OT preferably) by grey shirting him this year.

Sorry, forgot to mention Dews as a greyshirt in my scenario. From everything I've read, I pretty much figured it is about a foregone conclusion that Dews will be greyshirted.

From the TSR Radio Textbox on Barnett:

got hurt he is having a mri on his back today

Quite the conclusion for Hooker to jump to about surgery. Really wish today's media reported factual information as opposed to feeling the need to be 1st to report something.

I think he is just showing everyone how easy it was to get into the backfield against Vandy O-Line. Heck he even did it with a Polo on...

Depending on how serious this injury is this could be an example of why waiting is a big risk. He might find himself with no spot on either roster if this injury turns out badly

Or it could be an out of thin air report from a guy who has the tendency to put out a lot of these types of updates on a slow news day.

Can't just anybody write in to that text box?

Also, at least one SEC coach will totally dump a committed kid if he gets hurt. Not sure about Butch or Franklin.

Like I said if the injury turns out to be bad.

Hell yea i drop him if his injury is serious. He hasn't committed to us yet so why should we to him?
