IMO Mouhon looked to be a lot more committed than Thomas and that did not play out so well. I also don't buy the thinking that "If Butch wants him" he gets him. I'm quite sure Butch does not want his entire DL class taking last minute trips but they sure are doing it. There has been and will be a lot of top kids "Butch wants" but can't get. It's just recruiting.

Hendrix and Barnett aren't icing….those guys are cake! I am still wondering if Thomas is a sign and place, but I don't think he ends up in Knox. Just an opinion from a very poor recruiting guesser.

I agree that Hendrix and Barnett are a step above Thomas as DL recruits. If I had to just pick 2 of the 3 to end up Vols, it would be an easy choice.

Dude you've been whining about the dl since last spring. If you dont believe in Butch atp you never will. Mouhon was, imo, told to look elsewhere and it's pretty obvious. Thomas has ALWAYS said he was taking visits. Now what does that mean?

I get Thomas was ALWAYS taking the visits and that is why he has NEVER been a firm commitment to UT. IMO that is a huge part of why he will not end up a Vol on NSD. I believe in CBJ as I was pulling for him to be hired when the smokescreens were covering Knoxville. I just tend to live in reality and know "Butch does not get what Butch wants" all the time. We have missed on a lot of kids already in this staffs short time on the Hill. As I said, it's recruiting.

Missing and losing are 2 different animals. This staff does not lose verbals very often and some apparent losses are mutual. I understand not blindly slurping, but worrying for the sake of worrying is just.....worrisome. Relax, enjoy the next week or two and behold this frigging DL class.

Something I have learned in my time here is it was ALWAYS the coaches choice to let go of a recruit. A recruit would NEVER have the nerve to pick a school other than Tennessee if he were allowed to commit to UT. Character, grades, did not perform as expected, better guys on the board. There is a very long list that goes along with any de-commit we have.

Hubbs alluded to it last night on his Sunday recruiting notes thread. He just said, Beaver Freeze was trying to get him down to Oxford for a visit. Nothing from Barnett's side, but suggested it was worth watching. Rumor has it Sawyers has been in his ear about checking out Oxford.

You have me confused with someone else....But, something I know about you is that it's always the worst case scenario. You have yet to yield one compliment even though you were questioning why we werent taking sub par dl's who were giving us a sniff back in May.

I wonder if Barnett just doesn't like one of our coaches or something. Stripling. Seems like he has some reason to continue to look around. Pure speculation.
