'14 TN Xavier Hawkins WR/CB/KR

Swafford 2.0? If we could get him as a preferred walk-on, absolutely! Give him a scholly as soon as one opens up, if he's able to contribute on the field.

After further review... :) he could be the ideal candidate for a Blueshirt. Those are rare, but it seems to me, he'd fit the criteria perfectly. Better than a preferred walkon offer. It's essentially a loophole to get him on scholarship this fall, but only count toward next year's class. He'd have to walk on, during the summer session, but given a scholarship at the start of fall camp. Can't have "recruited" him...as in OV's or in home visits, but this is pretty much the situation currently.

Swafford wasn't on this kids level in HS. IMO Foreman wasn't either.

Hawkins needs to be a Vol, and I will not rest until that is realized. Well, at least as far as my internet message board capabilities can take me.

I don't want to see this kid returning punts and kickoffs on us for Vanderbilt.

I might believe you, but only if you name some names.

Not OV, but my top 10 instate kids would be:

1. Jalen Hurd
2. Josh Malone
3. Todd Kelly Jr
4. Rashaan Gaulden
5. Derek Barnett
6. Alex Bars
7. Emmanuel Smith
8. Vic Wharton
9. Michael Sawyers
10. Xavier Hawkins

Honorable mention: Charles Mosley, Cornelius Sturghill, Daryl Rollins-Davis, and maybe Devin Perry.

#9 and #10 on my list are interchangeable.

My 2015 list:

1. Rico McGraw
2. Donnovan Sheffield
3. Drew Richmond
4. Jauan Jennings
5. Kyle Phillips
6. Josh Smith
7. Jack Jones
8. Josh McMillon
9. Ugo Amadi
10. Zach Stewart
11. Dylan Jackson
12. Cam Ordway
13. Van Jefferson
14. Brant Mitchell
15. CJ Sanders

Soooooo much talent and depth.... I would be ok with UT taking 14 of these guys.

I totally agree, I would take Hawkins over 2-3 skill guys coming in

Wharton
Pearson
Malone
Hurd
Paulk
Berry
Gaulden
Payne
Moseley
Kelly
McDowell

You are a fool if you would take this kid over any of those players. The only "project" is Moseley, and his is bigger and faster than anyone on Fulton, plus he is an EE.

Sat next to the Tennessee Offensive Cord. (Bajakin) and the Oregon State wide receivers coach(Brent Brennan) during the Fulton game yesterday. Both were there to see Hawkins and both spent some time with his mother. Oregon State coach said he was his #1 priority. Hawkins didn't disappoint yesterday with 4 TDs and offensive MVP. Oregon State coach coming back to watch him in the East/West game with an in home and official visit to Oregon State in January. If you don't believe the hype look him up on Hudl. The kid can flat out ball!

By the way the kid defending him yesterday has SEC offers. Hawkins ran him silly yesterday.

Agreed.. This happens every year tho

Kid plays with a fire that reminds me of charlie garner. He's really small, but looks about the same size as brian kimbrow, and is better than kimbrow IMO.

Butch needs to find a way to make him a VFL.

So Moseley runs faster than 4.3-4.4? Don't think so. But go ahead and let this kid go somewhere else and when he starts putting up numbers your going to wish you had him.

I personally am 100% buying into the Hawkins & Rollins hype. I hope Butch Jones & UT's staff put the full-court press on both.

UT has really cashed in big on local, Knoxville HS prospects the last couple of years. Tyler Maples, Blake Garretson, Dustin Lindsey, Lee Smith, Anthony Anderson, Josh Hawkins, Rae Sykes, Dennis Rogan, Daniel Hood, Kyler Kerbyson, Devrin Young, Cody Blanc, George Bullock, Malik Foreman, Josh Smith, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others. That is 15+ STUD prospects out of the Knoxville area just in the last 5-10 years.

Not to mention, Randall Cobb played at Alcoa HS and now plays in the NFL, therefore I'm of the opinion UT should continue to recruit tons of the local players. With that ideology instilled, UT football will reach the top of the college football world very soon. GBO!

Moseley does in fact run faster than 4.3-4.4 and he has much more upside than Hawkins with his 6"1' frame

Not sure if serious.

Many of those you named if not most have/had no business being SEC football players.
