'15 AL OL Brandon Kennedy

If he does that, I like the outlook of the OL. His health won’t make or break our success, but good contributions from him and players like him will be the difference in 6 and 8-9 wins.

I’m not sure we get to 8-9 wins unless everybody is healthy on the OL all (or the large majority) of the season, Taylor breaks out in the secondary in a big way, and the DL steps things up big time.

I really hope Hall basically taking an entire season and offseason off has helped him get healthy enough to at least appear in most of the games this season. Dude has been through a lot and deserves a chance to show what he can do if healthy. Hopefully this will be a bit like Maggit in 2014 where he's finally able to get a good season in.

The weirdness around him having surgery or not last season and having to have another surgery this spring doesn't inspire confidence. But I hope he's able to recover and contribute.

Watch those guys play. With Richmond and Tatum, their "strength" is supposed to be their mobility, but DEs blow by them like they're standing still. I absolutely agree that a quality strength program is critical and that it is not a quick process. I have just stopped believing either of these guys is ever going to develop into the player we expected them to be.

One thing is for certain, neither Richmond or Tatum are prepared to play in our new offense. They must get bigger and stronger. Not sure how much can be done in one off-season.

sources say Tennessee is interested in former Alabama center/guard Brandon Kennedy. We’ll see if any movement happens there, but the Vols are not a factor with another Tide transfer OL in Dallas Warmack.

I have been very anti grad transfer but I want this guy. Having two years to play is a GameChanger imo

Same.

With Hall I’m hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

Five available grad transfers that will impact the 2018 season

As a recruit: Kennedy had an impressive list of scholarship offers, but elected to stay close to home and play for the Tide over other Auburn and Clemson.

As a Crimson Tide: Kennedy redshirted his first year on campus before playing in seven games as a backup in 2016. He started the 2017 season as Alabama’s backup center, but a foot injury prematurely ended his season after only three appearances. Kennedy announced his intention to transfer earlier this month and will have at least two years of eligibility remaining.

Schools in the mix: Tennessee

Farrell’s take: Kennedy is similar to Warmack in a lot of ways although he didn’t have the same footwork. He wasn’t tall but could handle himself in a phone booth and looked to be a very good offensive guard or center for Alabama with some work. He can now live up to that potential someplace else.

Then you aren't paying attention. Both made strides in the spring. Tatum particularly is filling out his frame.
Expect Tatum to show up in Fall camp at a lean 310.

so we're getting a high 4* talent for free at OG or center with 3 years of alabama S&C and coaching... this is basically best case scenario for our OL right now. Just hope the injury issues are in the past

Basically an instant impact player, which is equivalent to a 5* high school freshman or better.

For accuracy's sake, he was a low-unranked 4* on Rivals (5.8) and a 3* on 247. Doesn't change much though, as he was still talented enough to go to Bama and still has the 3 years of coaching and S&C you mentioned.
