'15 AL OL Brandon Kennedy

So I guess that means his first year had to be medical as well.

Thanks
The Rivals article I posted above says he redshirted (regular) his freshman year. It's my understanding that he also obtained a medical redshirt for last season. So he might have 3 years of elligibility remaining.

Yea I saw that and that isn't possible. That's why I asked

For accuracy's sake, he was a low-unranked 4* on Rivals (5.8) and a 3* on 247. Doesn't change much though, as he was still talented enough to go to Bama and still has the 3 years of coaching and S&C you mentioned.

Thought he was top 100 somewhere, but thanks for those details Chris. 4* offer list though

Ok. I might have my years mixed up.

This kid is graduating in just three years?

So if that is the case this does have 2 years for sure left and has 3 if Bama helps him get a medical his first year there

Correct.

2 for sure.

3 possible, but unlikely.

He is three years out of high school. He only redshirted his first year. He got hurt his 3rd year and only played in 3 games but did not redshirt, because he had already done that. He still has 2 years left.

He got a medical redshirt last year according to articles being posted.

Alabama is again blocking a player from joining another SEC school as a graduate transfer.

Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Brandon Kennedy is interested in transferring to Auburn or Tennessee but isn't even currently allowed to have contact with those schools, any other school in the SEC or any of the Crimson Tide's future non-conference opponents, sources told AL.com.

Kennedy, who ended the spring as Alabama's backup center, is in the process of appealing.

The Wetumpka native graduated from Alabama in December and is close to completing the requirements for his master's degree.

This is two years after the Alabama-Maurice Smith situation .

Smith was initially blocked from leaving the Tide for Georgia as a graduate transfer before eventually being allowed to do so by Alabama and the SEC.

There have been at least two SEC players that transferred within the conference as graduates in the last year -- running back David Williams, who left South Carolina for Arkansas, and defensive back Nick Harvey, who recently transferred from Texas A&M to South Carolina.

"The standard for granting waivers has been clear and compelling evidence that there is reason for allowing an exception to SEC rules," Sankey said in 2016. "I found, among other contributing factors, that a student-athlete who graduates in three years and exhibits a strong commitment to his or her academic future provides compelling motivation to help them achieve their goals on and off the field.

Battling auburn again. Hopefully we get this guy. Appeal sounds promising.

This was interesting... "Like Warmack, Kennedy was part of the Tide's 2015 recruiting class.

With those two gone, only nine of the 24 members of that class are still at Alabama.”

The same thing will be true of UGA 2018 class. All those five stars will not wait.

Notre Dame kept Everett Golson from transferring to Texas. Coaches can block for little reason. We both play Bama...that’s a valid reason.

I still don’t get it. The players aren’t (officially) paid. They’ve graduated and there is no contract. There is nothing stopping this kid from driving to Knoxville the day after graduation to register for grad classes and get a place to live.

Who would be the arbitrator or enforce this?

I think the school can block but the SEC can overrule. Think this happened a few years back with a Bama player going to UGA. Bama blocked but the SEC stepped in and let him play
