Actually, now that I think about what restaraunt you owned (which I visited as a rocky hiller) and knowing which current coach likes to hang out in Rocky hill bars, I'd bet your source is straight CTT.

Just neat to think about.

Never thought I would see the day that we would cut a 4 star DE loose like this. Would much rather have Ford over a couple of our offensive commitments but I guess cutting an in state kid loose would be to much of a pr hit. On the other hand getting a bad name with Florida HS coaches could hurt us down the line. Absolutely hate this kind of recruiting.

So you wanna burn a Perry from Hillsboro and Oliver from Oakland? Those are two of the most talented High Schools prospect wise in the MidState. If UT did that, they probably wouldn't get another player from those schools. I'm telling you Vincent Perry will be darn good for UT. That kid is that good..

You could make the case about burning bridges at Ford's HS as well. Being in-state doesn't mean you cut a more talented player, just to keep some mysterious pipeline open in Murf-boro.

I have to believe if we're cutting this kid loose it means a more highly sought after group of prospects is in play. If they are higher on the board than an edge rusher ranked in the 180s on Rivals then I'm anxious to see who they are.

Best of luck to this kid. I hate the fact that he won't be joining the team but he seems like the kind of kid who will do extremely well wherever he goes.

Disappointing decision but Marques will be fine.

If you all want things done the "right way" please give Dave Hart my number. I will coach this team the "right way." we'll be godawful but nobody will be able to fault my morals. I will do this for no more than $2 million per year. I will not entertain other job offers and I will not hold out for a higher contract.

Just catching up in the thread. Some of the talk about why even take the kid earlier and stuff is crazy. Kid is good. You take players of this caliber when they want to Commit, but this kid ain't Phillips. And with Butcher an EE, and Taylor being very good as well, plus the crunch for numbers, it's a pretty easy decision in my eyes. Best of luck to Ford, going to be a good player somewhere, but we are fine. I'm glad we are building a class then upgrading and dumping. It's better then waiting on guys like Phillips, striking out then not having anything.

I've known Terry for several years before he got his GA position under Butch Jones. He's always been a down to earth guy. Didn't want to bother them too much as it seemed they were celebrating Terry's new job at CSU. I did get a chance to walk over and congratulate Terry and both Coach Thigpen and Coach Gillespie were cool and down to earth. I asked them if they had tried the new 'Butch' cigar that was being sold. Coach Gillespie replied, they got enough of Butch at work and didn't want it to ruin relaxing with a cigar thinking about Butch. Sorry, no recruiting news. But thought it was a cool story to share.

Out of all the kids that I wouldn't want this to happen to this cycle is this guy. He's soft spoken, but very aggressive when it came to speaking about his recruitment and never even gave another school a chance. He was very vocal about that and reassuring all of us how firm he was to this Tennessee.

I know things have to be done and I trust our head coach and staff.. But man we stood this guy up and didn't leave much time for recovery -- it feels terrible. I can't even begin to imagine how he feels.
