I bet TG could play soccer to if he wanted. Could also be a solid baseball player. I just hope we don't get another Bruce pearl BBQ investigation over this kid.

Recruiting boards change as spots fill up. Yes, that means for an "ATH" like Gibson. Would I pass on Phillips, McKenzie, Richmond, Ordway, Martin, Sapp, or Jones to sign Gibson as a "3rd QB/ATH"? No.

I then have to look at Jefferson and Oliver. Would I take Gibson over either of those? Probably not. Jefferson is a polished WR and Oliver would be the lone TE in the class. Miss on both, MAYBE Gibson is a take. I honestly don't think there ends up being room.

That's 9 kids we stand a VERY good chance at getting. At the MOST we have 6-7 spots left. It's easy for me to see TG ending up elsewhere.

Could it be that he is continuing to recruit TG as a safety valve? What is JJ or QD get hurt in their senior years? What is the de commit? We need to keep that line of communication open and clear.

But let's be honest...is he really recruiting TG that hard? CBJ was reported to have left Knox to go recruiting the day after QD committed...leaving TG in knox to hang out.

Why are you so sure CBJ is recruiting TG any harder today than he is any other recruit? Just curious. Would be something I doubt you could actually prove at all.

Stop acting like we would pass on any of them. We won't. Someone like J Woods would be asked to grey shirt or look around before that happens.

This may actually come down to you not being able to count. I like numbers. I would be glad to sit down with you sometime and work at it. 1....2.....3....4...:)

Its not my job to make the numbers work. Its Butch's job. He will figure it out. Some less needed less talented recruits we be asked to look around according to who the coaches think we need if it comes to that. I trust them to do that. Apparently you and 3 or 4 others know better than Butch or think he doesn't have a plan. I mean its not like kids decommit or lack the grades and schools pull their offer or send them to juco or prep school all the time right?

I mean had Gibson committed earlier, maybe had he shown up to the camp on time, he would be a Vol right now. Things happen for a reason. I don't hate the kid at all. I just think that ship has sailed.


I am calling it now. I think he ends up a Cane.

I don't claim to know more or better than Butch. I think Butch had a great plan. He landed us a great instate DT QB in Jennings and he also got us a strong armed, pocket passing, big QB from Texas. IMO his plan looks like a great one for UT's QB future.

Well stop questioning if we should take Gibson as a qb or if we should take him. Butch obviously thinks we should. Trust the plan. Less needed like a Bruce or Woods or Lovingood most likely.

Oliver is a great pickup and will be a great weapon for Gibson.

TNK we do need a scholarship ls less than a top 20 player with through the roof potential. No way anyone could argue that. He could be a preferred wo. If numbers get tight with top players coming don't be surprised if that happens.
