I'm great. Nothing has changed as far as us leading until we see something solid. I'm sure when Gibson does commit you and Tux will be ready to jump off a building somewhere.

Like I have said I want Gibson on the team and he has the most potential. But we have a good back up plan in Dormady. We signed him for insurance. If Gibson doesn't come we have Jennings and Dormady. I, unlike you and a few other horrible posters want what's best for UT

It's DECLARATIVE statements like that...getting personal and such that has caused a majority of the back and forth on this thread...EAZY and BOT obviously have taken umbrage and lost their cool but then recollected their arguments...I've never alleged that you DON'T want what's best for OUR program...I just disagree how we get there...in short...what you said?...NOT COOL!

Mods should rename this thread, "The Trail of Tears".

Personally don't think this is anything like taking a group of people and evicting them from their homelands and making them walk thousands of miles to a new location.

But you're the genius. Maybe you can change the name of the thread on your board.

We're approaching Bryce Brown levels of roller coaster emotions on this thread. I'm just gonna be happy when Kahlil commits and enjoy the show.

Still think Gibson is an incredible talent, but it is what it is.

Mr. Insider, where were you at this morning to let us know Matt was wrong? You were MIA until 247 dropped a nuke and of course like a fly on ****, here you are.

Several people, including myself, have been using common sense and logic in our approach to recruiting. We have been telling you all along that the emotional parade you have been having is illogical and wrong. Wed are not insiders nor have we claimed to be insiders. We are just people using commons sense and take a dose of reality every day.

The funny part of all this will be IF they take 3 QBs and 1 or both of Gibson/Jennings get moved to other positions and we get no QB in 2016. The same people screaming take him as a 3rd QB today will be the ones screaming "Why can't we get a top QB in 2016"? "Why do QBs not want to play at UT with these WRs(Gibson now being 1 of them)"?

The funny part is, if the world ended tomorrow, none of this matters.

Why do you always play the what if game?

Why weren't you in here saying this earlier this morning then? While LV may drive me nuts, at least he had the stones to show up in this thread when it looked like he was possibly going to be wrong. You on the other hand went back underneath your rock until the tide turned and you quickly dropped in with a "na na na na boo boo".

Championships are built on long term preparation and planning. The quick fix does nothing but fall apart in most cases. There is a reason it is so rare to see schools try/take 3 QBs in a class. Fans can try and ignore it and just go with the *'s. It's just a lot better to set yourself up for long term success IMO.

I may do the "what if" thing at times. It's usually followed by at least what I feel is a reasonable argument for my opinion and my "what if's".

Hubbs just dropped a bombshell saying basically Tennessee isn't recruiting Gibson very hard and that he "wouldnt consider tennessee the leader at this point."

abandon thread
Somewhere behind a keyboard Leb is smirking and rubbing his hands together while laughing uncontrollably

I'm not the one who is emotionally invested in this. I am watching things play out just as some of us have predicted that they would.

The kid is a fantastic athlete, but he is not going to play QB for UT and that is what several of us have been saying all along. The cast was set when Quinten Dormady committed to UT and was set to be an Early Enrollee.

All we have done is point out the logic of pour thinking and the fallacy of those emotionally invested in TG. He may yet, get to join this class, but it will be as a WR if at all.

I'm not either. I said it when Dormady committed that I was pumped. I don't draw a line between recruits with this Team TG or Team Dormady crap. When Matt posted what he did, did you see anyone dropping in with smartass posts like how you have done? I don't think so. You seem a hell of a lot more invested in being right than anyone else in this thread.

True.
You also don't yearn for insider status on an anonymous message board full of strangers like your boy Tux does. :)

Insider status?????

I am not claiming insider status nor is anyone else following the same train of thought that several posters here are using. I am claiming that I am using logic and common sense in discussing TG's recruitment.

I am pointing out the emotional recklessness of you and several others in this thread in regards to TG's recruitment.

Lol Keep telling yourself that. Just last week weren't you telling us that you "knew" TG was being recruited as a WR because CZA was listed as his main recruiter on 247? That's logic and common sense if I've ever seen it...

Go ahead and provide the link that said we were desperate for a QB and just wanted to lock one up. Every article I read talked about his impressive arm strength and accuracy. He is going to be at least a 4 star on every site by signing day. That's not a guy that you just say, "Well I guess we'll take him since no one else has committed."

Domino effect: Quinten Dormady, Blake Barnett cause movement

Tennessee – Tennessee can breathe a big sigh of relief with the commitment of Dormady on Monday night. For a program in desperate need of depth at the quarterback position, Tennessee was running out of options for elite passers in the 2015 cycle. The only negative to that Dormady commitment is that it hurts the Vols in their Torrance Gibson hunt. Auburn could be slowly taking the edge for the athletic lefty.

Tennessee takes QB commitment; has Gibson derby changed direction? | Saturday Down South

Tennessee already has accepted a commitment from ATH/QB Jauan Jennings, and with this decision it looks like a very strong insurance plan just in case Gibson doesn’t end up in Knoxville–or maybe if Gibson does show up and ends up at another skill position, as has been suggested.

Quinten Dormady Commits to Tennessee: What 4-Star QB Brings to Vols | Bleacher Report

After Zach Gentry committed to Texas and Sheriron Jones pledged to Florida, the Vols were down to just a handful of viable targets with UT offers remaining on the board.

With Torrance Gibson and Deondre Francois not expected to decide soon, Dormady represented Tennessee's best chance to secure a high priority early in the process.

"They needed a quarterback pretty badly," Callahan said

Following Ferguson's transfer, there was no way Jones could wait on 5-star top quarterback target Gibson to make a decision that could drag all the way to national signing day.

If the Vols put all their eggs in Gibson's basket and he chose somebody else, the egg would wind up on Jones' face.

Waiting wasn't an option.

They all say we were running out of options and couldn't afford to wait on Gibson in case he didn't chose us.
