So because a 17 year old kid seems to like attention means he has severe character issues? How so? And how does any of those things affect his talent on the field? One could say that Johnny Mandouche had character issues yet it didn't seem to affect him any.

Let me preface by saying I don't want to lose QD or JJ. That being said, here is the problem. If Gibson signs with us and is given the chance to compete at QB, then all of them should be excited and look forward to the competition. Competition brings out the best in competitive players. If either QD or JJ feel they need to go elsewhere because the coaches feel we need another QB, then that would show immaturity and a fear of competition. We don't need guys like that.

I don't think QD or JJ would leave if Gibson comes in at QB. I think they would all compete and the best guy wins out. Also you may think teams "backed" off of him but that's just highly unlikely. If Gibson wanted to commit right now, I would bet most D1 teams would take him in a split second.

It has been written by all of the VQ mods including Hubbs that teams have backed off because of his character issues. That can affect numerous things on a college football team. This is also before he joins a college football program that requires a lot more maturity as far as attending workouts and practices etc.

Also, if this was your one shot at playing college football and you had to beat out 2 other guys from your same class for the same position, wouldn't you check out other teams that had a more favorable depth situation so that if you got beat out you wouldn't ride the bench your entire college career? Just because they couldn't beat out the top guy doesn't mean they don't have game. These guys are going to do what's best for them, not for a university that they aren't even enrolled at yet.

Multiple friends close to Gibson telling me he will choose Tennessee. Wouldn't tell me when though

Torrance Gibson was working out at quarterback again today. I’m going to kill the suspense; he’s not going to look very good in this environment. Gibson is a dual threat whose greatest weapon with the ball in his hands is his ability to run while keeping a defense honest with enough of a passing threat. A 7v7 camp is all about passing with no running at all. Gibson throws better than Denard Robinson at this level, and is at least equal to Terrelle Pryor at the same stage. Gibson might be the player who benefits the most from the coaching and reps he’ll see this week, but I don’t expect any glowing reviews of his ability to throw. Now if he moved to receiver for the week…
