The bottom line in all of this.... can TG help us have a better football team and add to our win column if he were to play for our beloved Vols ? No matter where he is on the field , I'd say YES

"Hearing that Gibson is a take as an ATH but not as a QB for the Vols and the kid thinks he's Joe Montana so I don't see this ever happening. We've had many questions about whether or not he can be a quarterback in any offense that resembles pro style in any way and we don't think he can so while Gibson may tell people the Vols are all over him, it's not for QB.

This backs up what Doug Matthews, LV, Burger, Butchna, myself, and others have been saying all along.

If the kid wants to be a Tennessee Volunteer, it will be as a WR. I hope that he can get that through his head.

I think the staff is probably telling him that they'll give him a shot at QB, but if he isn't open to the idea of playing other positions, then forget about it.

I think this kid could be a amazing weapon if he's open to the idea of being an ATH.

But you can't blame the kid for wanting to play QB. Its the star position. But this does explain why he's got such a chip on his shoulder to prove that he can play it.

I'd love to see us take him. Guy like him will find the field, just as long as he can develop a team mentality, and play where he's needed, not where he wants.

It really depends on how well he, Jennings, and Dormady play this fall. If Dormady has just a so-so year, I can see him getting bumped, despite all the feel-good sentiment around him at the moment. We have to remember, he did not play last year....so we only have sophomore footage to go by, and his visits/workouts for the staff. IMHO, Dormady was insurance.

What I suspect will happen is that both Gibson and Jennings will be told they will get an honest look at the QB position, but whomever stands out will stay, and the other will move to a position where they will likely be better suited to play. That's different than taking 3 pocket passers...one of those is going to bail before long.

Both Jennings and Gibson know...either way, they won't be riding the bench, unlike a pocket passer. They'll be able to make an impact, regardless.

Usual Tux. Ignore the 20 articles that say Gibson could be great and did well at the Opening. Bring up Mathews whose name you can't even spell right . Then seize on the one negative thing posted. Your shtick is getting really sad and pathetic.

His name is Dormady! He's a gunslinger from Texas.
Gunslinger? He didn't even play last year and is a 2-3* by all the services except 247. I'm sure the coaches liked his workout at the camp recently and he's a good insurance policy, in case Gibson chooses another team. But, I personally think he gets bumped before NSD, if Gibson wants to commit. I didn't really see anything in his highlight reel that wowed me. So, it seems bit presumptuous to christen him as the QB of the future, here.

If we take all 3 guys...I can see Peterman transferring in the Spring...so, that puts us right back at 4QB's on the roster. So, there is that to consider.

We were looking to take 2 before Riley Ferguson left, IMHO....cause we didn't land one last year. So, I'm thinking that Gibson's mentioning him having a good heartfelt talk with Butch about his situation....means both his and Jennings prospects at QB would be tentative.

Instead of either one of them having to ride the bench for 3yrs, the low man on the totem pole (QB competition) would immediately switch to another position, where they could still excel.

The Vols will only take 2 QBs in this class and they all are committed now.

There are some great QBs in the 2016 class and the star does not want to creature a log jam at QB that would push the 2016 away from Tennessee.

We are set at QB in this class.

Could Gibson possibly give FL, GA, Bama fits every year with his ability to escape the rush for big gains on 3rd downs? The answer to this question is all I need to know about this recruit.

Is this even English? What are you trying to say?

Well, I haven't seen his WR highlight reel, but good luck getting PT at WRU with the group of guys we already have.

Dude might want to practice tackling..

I was thinking the same thing, but that is OBVIOUSLY not what CBJ has been communicating to Gibson. So, it doesn't matter what your speculation or the all the writers for the services, happens to be. If CBJ is saying he's being recruited as a QB, still...there's more to it than what you and I can see, here.

I was surprised we were able to take more than 30 in last class. Butch Stones knows how to work it, so we'll just have to sit back and let him do it. After all, we have no choice in the matter.

Pretty sure Dormady is an EE, so clearly they won't be "bumping" him for Gibson.

With his size, speed and athleticism, he'll be in the 2 deep rotation, easily. I think CBJ let's him and Jennings duke it out at QB, and if Dormady is still in the picture, he'd have to beat both of those guys as well. There is no guarantee that he'd be ahead of either.
