The people saying we won't take TG must not remember Gerald Jones' recruitment. He was a HS DT QB and listed as an Athlete in the Rivals 100...I see a lot of parallels between TG and Gerald. You don't pass on that kind of athletic talent unless there are major red flags in the character or academic areas.

I want to know what character issues everyone keeps talking about? Maturity is the only one I could think of, and that is not a character issue, just part of being a 17 year old kid. That said I am sure everyone who posts on this board has a few character issues and vices (I know I do).

I don't believe we will end up with Gibson, but character issues have nothing to do with it.

I said before, that if Gibson decides to commit, Dormady might very well get bumped. You have to remember...it's not like the guy is a 5* who is killing it in the camps. To take him when we did, shows they do like the guy, but we had to hedge our bets because Gibson has dragged out his decision.

No doubt in my mind that if Gibson had committed early, Dormady would not have been in the picture, as you say. We don't know what CBJ is thinking. But what we DO know is, he IS telling TG that he is still being recruited....and as a QB.

That's not my decision to make. If it were up to me, I would probably tell TG, at this point, it's either WR or nothing. But, it's not up to you and me.

Gibson is a much better athlete than jones ever was.

Gerald Jones was exciting to watch. I really thought he'd do more here, but I suppose the supporting cast/coaching turmoil is to blame for that.

Dormady is the one true QB we have in this class. I view Jennings and Gibson each as 1/2 a QB because decent chance they end up at other positions.

Simple math... 1+.5+.5 = 2.

Boom, we now have our 2 QB recruits

All we have is 1 QB and 1 ATH who may or may not be a QB verbally committed. Nothing is set in stone and regardless of what you say, CBJ is still pursuing Gibson hard as a QB. Keep on keeping on though Larry. I am sure 'Moe and Curly will be on later to make you feel better.

Sure there's a chance, but since Gibson has repeatedly said he doesn't plan to commit early, I don't see why we should consider unlikely scenarios. On the other hand, I think Butch chose Dormady in part because he was an EE and might wait until after he is in the bank to go hard after Gibson, which would be pretty dirty.

Jennings or Gibson will qb the vols after Dobbs is done. Clearly jones ain't telling the insiders shat.

Can't help but laugh.

CBJ literally took Quinten Dormady at QB WHILE Torrance Gibson was on a visit to UT. Obviously the staff thinks very highly of Quinten. Only way TG ends up in Orange is IF Van Jefferson commits to OSU and TG would be a WR from day 1. Even then, it depends on where the UT staff is with TG's "issues". I doubt he's a take at all when it comes down to it.
