I was thinking the same thing, but that is OBVIOUSLY not what CBJ has been communicating to Gibson. So, it doesn't matter what your speculation or the all the writers for the services, happens to be. If CBJ is saying he's being recruited as a QB, still...there's more to it than what you and I can see, here.
I was surprised we were able to take more than 30 in last class. Butch Stones knows how to work it, so we'll just have to sit back and let him do it. After all, we have no choice in the matter.
Some think Quinten would flip to Texas if offered. He kind of even insinuated things may be different in an interview he did. Think it was on Scout.
Said something like "I'm not sure if anything would change if I had a Texas offer."
The people saying we won't take TG must not remember Gerald Jones' recruitment. He was a HS DT QB and listed as an Athlete in the Rivals 100...I see a lot of parallels between TG and Gerald. You don't pass on that kind of athletic talent unless there are major red flags in the character or academic areas.

Gerald Jones was open to playing other positions, TG has stated that he is not an athlete. He has stated numerous times that he is a QB...a very erratic throwing QB, but a QB nonetheless.
He had shoulder surgery correct? All it takes is one hit and he could never play another down. Seems like a safe play to me. Take a guy who can play qb at the next level in case something should happen.
OBVIOUSLY GIBSON is the source for what CBJ is saying to him...so it would be safe to consider him biased in this regard. He lost credibility early on in this process, when he "reported" that Butch had told him "he was the number one target"...I simply don't believe he was given that line...he interpreted it from something like YOU'RE A TOP PRIORITY...I believe at one time he was the #2 target...after Gentry...Coach Jake practically lived in Albuquerque for a stretch...and when that ship sailed, his opportunity was there...and he let Dormady slip in and take it from him...Jennings already has an equal skill set to TG...and his spot. TG is quite simply shellshocked with his top three options TN, AUB and OSU out of the equation...he SHOULD find a team that still wants him at QB and learn their fight song! :aggressive:
Edit: IMO...of course. :hi:
You do know that JJ is also a QB commitment right? Would he not be an "insurance policy" what is already committed and part of the class?
Again if Gibson isn't a take for butch tell me what it is they talk about when Gibson calls CBJ and vise versa.

Probably the same type of stuff that CBJ talked about with Duke Shelley, Sterling Johnson, Quentez Johnson, Austin Clark, Marquell Harrell, and others around the time they were ready to commit to UT, then found out CBJ would not take them. Quality recruiters can get kids believe just about anything. Of course that does not mean they would take them today, or any day.
I do know that seeing as how I'm a Jennings guy. However there is no guarantee he stays there and the same for Gibson they are like their titles suggest athletes.
Yes, we do. Gibson was telling the media at the Opening, that Butch told him he was still recruiting him...and as a QB. Does it need to spelled out in simpler terms for you?
I agree, there is no guarantee. That is why they are taking 2 in 2015 IMO. 2 in a class allows for the unknown. Taking 3, 4 or maybe 5 could also be looked at "in case". It just does not make sense in the grand scheme of things.
