'15 FL QB/WR/DB (anything he wants) Torrance Gibson

So if Texas were to offer Dormady, does Gentry then flip to Tennessee?

Everything I have seen with QD, he looks like a Vol. Kid and his folks have already made multiple trips back to Knoxville.

Only way we lose QD IMO is if the staff tries to do something stupid and take 3 QBs in 1 class. Especially if reports are accurate and they have told both committed QBs, they would be the only 2 taken.

Gibson as an "insurance policy" IMO makes zero sense. Dormady is by far the best passing QB we have/could have in 2015. Why would your "insurance policy" for a passer be a future WR? Seems odd to me at least.

It would be like me calling up AllState and telling them I want to double up the coverage on my vehicle in case my home burns down.
Come again? Please 'splain how you manage to reach that conclusion. His tape is no more impressive....PASSING...than Jennings. And Jennings has some killer tape running the ball. Dormady doesn't. Please show us some Junior footage of Dormady. Oh, that's right....there isn't any. Just some Sophomore footage.

How people like you can ASSume he is BY FAR the best QB prospect is a mystery. :loco: Only 247 has him as a 4*. All the others have him listed as a 2-3*. Won't you join us, back down here on Earth, for a spell? Must get pretty lonely up there in space. :)

Maybe the other services suck.

Can't help but laugh.

CBJ literally took Quinten Dormady at QB WHILE Torrance Gibson was on a visit to UT. Obviously the staff thinks very highly of Quinten. Only way TG ends up in Orange is IF Van Jefferson commits to OSU and TG would be a WR from day 1. Even then, it depends on where the UT staff is with TG's "issues". I doubt he's a take at all when it comes down to it.

I thought you said that Bruce took TGs spot when he committed to Tn ? Now it depends on Jeffersons decision ? What issues does TG have this week ?

So whatever TG says is the Gospel truth? Are you serious? So you hang on every word that TG says, but you turn around and discount the word of people that have access to the coaches? That makes sense...that's logical.

I don't always take second hand information, but when I do, I take it from a teenager.

That's partially true. He is still recruiting him. Whether it be at qb or equipment manager is yet to be seen.

Again if Gibson isn't a take for butch tell me what it is they talk about when Gibson calls CBJ and vise versa.

I'm confident that Butch could fill hours of conversation with Sterling Johnson and/or Yacquis Shelley RIGHT NOW...when are they reporting to Knoxville again ?

You've said this quite a few times now. Mind sharing the definitive info you have?

He hasn't ever been very high on us that I can recall and we are loaded at his position. Trio those with the two we have already committed and I don't see him here. I think it's all tOSU.

Just because it says qb doesent mean he stays there. He's an athlete for a reason.

You may want to tell TG that he is an Athlete, because I don't think he got the memo. He is stuck on being a QB.

I think that is the divide here. I think most people, including myself have no problem taking him as an ATH only. It's when people want to label him a QB and take him. We already have two QB's committed, and those two QB's may be EE. So if TG is waiting around to December to decide and enroll next summer, he will be so far behind its not even funny.

It's a numbers game. We have too many other needs in other areas to take a third qb, especially if he won't ee.
Been trying to tell you....stop trying to apply normal conventions, here. It doesn't apply. Everyone and their grandmother thought there was no way we could legitimately take more than 30 players in last year's class. Butch proved them wrong. He worked some magic, and made it happen. So, the way things look now may not be the way it looks by November/Dec.

I too thought Gibson missed his boat after Dormady committed, but that ain't what he's been told by the staff. If he commits, again...I think his and Jennings prospects as QB is contingent upon the results of an initial competition...with the low guy on the totem pole getting moved to another position.

I'm thinking that is what he is telling both Jennings and Gibson. That they will both get a shot at QB, but it's likely that one of them switches position. As long as they are both cool with that, we could conceivably take all 3...knowing that one of them will play elsewhere.

I felt UT would be taking 2 CBs in 2015. Ordway and Martin was the ones I had in my class. With Martin having attended camp then not announcing to UT, I have my doubts if the staff takes him now. Then news came down that Jefferson was still a WR the coaches were trying to land. Simple add and subtract IMO. Add Jefferson, Bruce slides to CB and there ya have it.

I can't keep up with all the TG issues. Just going off all the services, DM, TB, and others saying there are "issues" in play with TG and schools recruiting him.

That's true if everything works out but there is no guarantee and I'm a Jennings guy i hope he does great things here.

That could very well be the thing with TG. As of now I don't think he is a take for UT if he expects to see 1 snap lined up as a QB for the Vols. WR? Maybe. If it comes down to Jefferson vs Gibson at WR, I think the staff takes Van. He decides to go to OSU, CBJ could take the risk on TG developing as a WR. IMO, that is the only way he's a take for the Vols.

You obviously aren't following his recruiting at all, then. It's actually the opposite of what you are claiming, here. He and his folks were at the Orange Carpet event. He loved it and said his folks did, too. Had very glowing comments about the staff and program.

Plus you forget...he may not be FROM TN...but he is now playing in TN country. Surrounded DAILY by classmates that are no doubt largely TN fans. You think they ain't in his ear continuously? Pfffft...what you say, brah. :loco:
