High on us? Its either tOSU or UT for him. Several people (VQ guys) think we lead for Van. And judging by the CB on 247, I'd say we stand just as good of a chance or better of landing him than anyone else.

I've heard that his UF visit isn't all that serious. They will be down in Florida for vacation and stop by for a visit. tOSU hired one of the HS coaches at Van's school, and according to Buck, that rubbed Van's dad the wrong way.

We have Preston Williams on board. Bruce and Woods are slot guys. Van won't be a starter Day 1, but I think he can be very useful and productive. Butch really impressed his parents at the Orange Carpet event. I get the feeling that Shawn, Van's father, trusts Butch with his son.

I have noticed that "football people" seem to think well of CBJ. Peyton, Bill Bates, Eric Berry, R. MacKenzie, just to name a few.

Remember the same folks saying he is lying now were the same ones swearing he is 100% truthful and we should listen to him when he joked about not being recruited anymore. Now he keeps saying we lead and Butch says he is still a priority and now he is a liar.

The same people that were saying he is now telling the truth was saying that he was lying earlier. Maybe it works both ways. Maybe he is playing the recruiting game. All the recruits know that TN fans are irrational, a little clingy...bordering obsessive. You must admit that TG loves him some TG.

So whatever TG says is the Gospel truth? Are you serious? So you hang on every word that TG says, but you turn around and discount the word of people that have access to the coaches? That makes sense...that's logical.

I don't always take second hand information, but when I do, I take it from a teenager.

It's only the gospel truth when it suits the hater's agenda.

We never said lying. We could tell it was sarcasm which your obsessed anti Gibson faction refused to acknowledge.

Weren't you the same dude that was arguing me up and down because I said TG was being sarcastic about having his birthday party in Knoxville? You are that guy right?! You told me that TG said on twitter that he was having his birthday in Knoxville. I said no, he was joking. You damn near challenged me to a fist fight under the bridge.

You are the same guy, so you may want to look in the mirror when you use the word obsessed.

Wrong guy.

I don't understand why people don't want one of the best athletes in the country in orange, no matter the position....

They're in too deep to change their opinion now. They have to stick to their guns and fight to convince others they are right, regardless the plethora of information that opposes their view. It's no longer about the team and whether or not the Vols would be better with the player. Now it's about ego and being right.

Misery loves company and a good captain goes down with their ship.

I'd love to have him at wide out, but I think we already have our QBs.

I can roll with that, even though I'd love to see what he can do at QB on this level. Maybe we could see him in a few situational sets, like the Gators used Tebow in the beginning.

Either way, get him in Orange!

My thoughts: If he comes on board, I'm willing to bet he gets a shot at QB. If he doesn't impress Butch and Co., he moves to another position (likely WR) and Jennings stays at QB. If he comes in and impresses the coaches, he stays at QB and Jennings moves to Defense. In either scenario, the team is better off...and that's what I think the staff is looking to do. Upgrade the team with elite athletes.

This is more than likely the case. If I had to bet.

Mike Farrell on Gibson

This backs up what Doug Matthews, LV, Burger, Butchna, myself, and others have been saying all along.

If the kid wants to be a Tennessee Volunteer, it will be as a WR. I hope that he can get that through his head.

I Google searched this quote and can't find it anywhere.

At last some sense comes into this conversation. Vols would be nuts not to take him. If he has grade issues, which is very possible, help him get into a Vol friendly JUCO. He should be treated like any new player. Give him a shot to compete and if he wins the job, it is his. If he doesn't win the job, let him compete at another position. Coaches would risk a QB controversy, but that's why they earn the big bucks.
