“i think it’s going to pick up a lot more once we play in the fall and once they see my grades after the fall,” he said. “right now, my gpa is good.”

“knoxville is beautiful, too, and i like knoxville because there’s a lot of players i know that play for tennessee now,” martin said, referring to vols freshman defensive backs rashaan gaulden and evan berry, among others. “i like tennessee’s coaching staff. I mean, tennessee’s coaching staff was the first to give me a chance. That just means a lot. My grades weren’t good, and nobody else really made an effort to see me or whatever. And tennessee helped me out the most — their coaching staff.”

“more than likely, i’m going to wait until january, talk to my family about it and see what they have to say,” he said. “in the end, i want what i want and they want what they want, and we’ve got to come to a halfway agreement.”

I wouldn't necessarily read anything into that comment. I think he's just saying there always could be differing opinions between him and his parents on where to go, and they're going to have to come to some sort of agreement if they don't all believe he should go to the same school. I haven't heard anything about his parents already having a strong preference on where he goes

My .02cents is that Coach Jones has put him on hold pending a grades /academic review after the Fall Semester. Hence he will commit to the Vols then if his grades are up to par and he is on the glide path to graduate with an associate degree as he says he intends in May 2015.

Behind Richmond Jefferson and Phillips this guy is the most important player on our board. He has the potential to be an All American and a first round pick. His athleticism and size is something we haven't had in a long time in our defensive backfield. I could see him coming in an starting immediately opposite of Sutton. Our backfield would be one of the best in the conference if not the country.

I very much want Justin to be a Vol and believe there is a good chance that happens. But I will not be depressed if it does not happen. I like where the team is currently at D-back. I understand potential for injuries dictates they bring in another quality guy and I hope it is him because he can help immediately. If not they can focus on next year's class IMO.

Cody actually had a moment of bravado awhile back and admitted to everyone that he did it. He went off on everyone that was saying **** to him and within about 5 mins had an angry lynch mob in the Torrance Gibson thread. Freak restored order quickly, deleted all the post and told everyone to stfu basically lol.


It was quite a sight.
