'15 JUCO WR Camion Patrick

I'll repeat what others have said here - he's not going to be eligible to play anywhere in Tennessee this season. Camion knew what he had to do in the classroom to retain his eligibility. He was given an opportunity to "fix" some things in summer school, and in short, he didn't take advantage of the opportunity at all (you've at least got to show up for class). Absolutely pathetic. If someone from West sweet talks the TSSAA into giving him credit(s) that he didn't earn in order to regain his eligibility, there will be a lot of people crying foul (I can think of a few at LC). Barring some good ol' boy politics, prep school is the only place we could see him play football this year.

Driver's Ed is not his strongest subject.

dude has major issues to get over. looks to me like he'll be getting a head start in the workforce. dude just doesn't want to be a student. it's hard to just all of a sudden "turn it on" your senior year after you've messed around as much as he has. time will tell..

Update on Camion Patrick

Transferred to Knoxville West High School but his athletic eligibility is still under question. TSSAA rules state eligibility cannot be ruled on until it has been reviewed and approved by the Executive Director. Per GoVolsXtra

Most kids that transfer within city don't get cleared because you can't transfer and be eligible unless you move or there are extenuating circumstances. That being said a lot of student athletes get around it.

Transferring from Lenoir City to Knox West is not transferring "within city"...it's not even transferring within county...it's a 45 minute drive if memory serves

You are correct. He is transferring in from a separate county. Moot point.

I hope close to being done eventually means a wake up call and this kid can be a vol. Best of luck to him.

With the new rules you must "turn it on" as a freshman. With the freshman this fall ('16 class) the change in what is needed and when it must be acquired is going way up. Not sure who it hurts the most ( :) ), but the article is buried on ESPN.com . Appears to be a real "game changer".

It's not going to matter one bit if he doesn't get his act together in the class room. I hope he is just as dettermined in that regard as he was in transferring to be able to play this year.

Steino, you seem close to the situation, any clue how bad his grades are? Any chance he qualifies?

I'm pretty darn close to the situation but don't know his grade situation with West (whether he qualifies or not). All I know is that even if he does it's going to be hard to get him through the clearinghouse with all the troubles/transferring that he's done. It's obvious why he's doing it. School needs to be more important to football to him right now, and I just don't see that happening. Hopefully it does, but if I were a betting man I'd bet on him not being here. We should know shortly though. Gotta be tough on him with teams like TN/Bama after him and he may have messed it all up by being a knuckle head.

I was close to the situation when he was at LC, and he flat-out didn't do what he needed to in order to remain eligible. He wasn't even being asked to do that much (drivers ed). I agree, he's going to have all sorts of problems getting through the clearing house.

If he becomes eligible to play at West, it will be an absolute joke.
