I'm willing to bet Hurd, in the off-season, out of pads, in track shoes and shorts, on a track, is probably a bit faster than Hurd, in game three, after getting blasted by Oklahoma all game against our paper machete OL, in full pads, while carrying a football, reading the field, and cutting towards the sideline to avoid an angle.

Hi all, 4-star Kendall Bussey's father has told Nebraska that they can start looking for other running backs and I am hearing that Tennessee if where he wants to play. He loved the visit he took and wants to get back on campus as soon as he can again to commit or he could just outright commit by phone. I assume he's a take for the Vols as they have been recruiting him hard but this might not move as fast as you want simply because Bussey's dad is very good friends with coach Fisher at Nebraska so there is some sensitivity to deal with here and the Vols are involved with other running backs as well.
Texas A&M is his other top choice right now but I hear the Vols offer was a dream and he loved the trip compared to his trip to Nebraska for their game against Purdue. More to come as we track this.
If we get to play more 10 man defenses (like Wilds did on that play), then I'm sure we'll see Hurd bust a few long ones. You forget....he did that EVERY week in HS...even on the ESPN broadcast game, to start his senior year (on an early play, he burst right throw the middle of the line and nobody could catch him....not even Josh Malone, who was playing safety).I give Hurd every benefit of the doubt, but I agree. I don't think he's 4.37 fast. He may get there, but when I saw Brandon Wilds take off for 80 against us (even though we were short a defender) I thought whoa, that's what I thought Hurd would look like in the open field. Again, Hurd will always draw my highest praise... ultimate team player, smart, prideful, all around good and potentially elite SEC back.
