'15 LA RB Kendall Bussey (Former UT commit)

I raced a kid 50 yards last year that ran a 4.6 at multiple camps and beat him. Boom...fastest photographer on Vols sideline.

I'm a slow white tall skinny kid. I have no future in athletics, and have never played football. I have no idea what I'm talking about when discussing Vols Football.

But I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

3-star joke. I've seen better from you.

I'm willing to bet Hurd, in the off-season, out of pads, in track shoes and shorts, on a track, is probably a bit faster than Hurd, in game three, after getting blasted by Oklahoma all game against our paper machete OL, in full pads, while carrying a football, reading the field, and cutting towards the sideline to avoid an angle.

This is ridiculous. Mods, please ban this troll.

Coach used a calendar when timing my 40-yard dash.

Ba-dum, ba-dum. Folks, I'll be appearing nightly all week...

Ran a 4.5 once... Coach told me later the stopwatch broke a couple of seconds before I crossed the finish line.... At least he let me live the dream for a couple of days...

According to Mike Farrell on Rivals, Bussey's father has told Nebraska to start searching for other RB options. Kendall wants to be a Vol and will try to commit in person on his next visit.

Says Tennessee offer is a dream come true.

Well alright!...thank you for the good info kind sir!

This is what Signu was talking about.

Hi all, 4-star Kendall Bussey's father has told Nebraska that they can start looking for other running backs and I am hearing that Tennessee if where he wants to play. He loved the visit he took and wants to get back on campus as soon as he can again to commit or he could just outright commit by phone. I assume he's a take for the Vols as they have been recruiting him hard but this might not move as fast as you want simply because Bussey's dad is very good friends with coach Fisher at Nebraska so there is some sensitivity to deal with here and the Vols are involved with other running backs as well.

Texas A&M is his other top choice right now but I hear the Vols offer was a dream and he loved the trip compared to his trip to Nebraska for their game against Purdue. More to come as we track this.

Also, said that this could be a slow flip process given the strong relationship between Kendall's father and the Nebraska staff on top of Tennessee recruiting other backs.

Some saying on Twitter he has decommited.

Not an official source, just some random people, so may not be legit.

I give Hurd every benefit of the doubt, but I agree. I don't think he's 4.37 fast. He may get there, but when I saw Brandon Wilds take off for 80 against us (even though we were short a defender) I thought whoa, that's what I thought Hurd would look like in the open field. Again, Hurd will always draw my highest praise... ultimate team player, smart, prideful, all around good and potentially elite SEC back.
If we get to play more 10 man defenses (like Wilds did on that play), then I'm sure we'll see Hurd bust a few long ones. You forget....he did that EVERY week in HS...even on the ESPN broadcast game, to start his senior year (on an early play, he burst right throw the middle of the line and nobody could catch him....not even Josh Malone, who was playing safety).

I think another thing that slows him down a bit is being coached to keep the ball tucked in as he runs...meaning he's not free to swing that arm as he runs.

Imagine having to run a timed 40 with one arm tucked in a static position over the ball. Your time would probably drop 3-4 tenths. They need to let him have the freedom to swing that arm until he is about to make contact or is running through traffic.

With it looking like there is a strong possibility of grassier staying in North Carolina, this is who I want as our third back. I wouldn't be upset with Love either, but Bussey would be my pick. If Reid were to go elsewhere, I would like us to really pursue Vaughn. I think he is the most similar to Reid of all the running backs left on our board. This would give us a diverse group of running backs this class.

Wait, what? Not doubting it cause it looks like it's already starting to happen. But weren't people just complaining about Farrell in the Justin Martin thread? How is he credible here, but not there? Just curious.
