I would probably not come at the HC of the team I love like he was some lying scumbag if I just had speculation and simply "thought" that something played a role in the situation. LWS has said the Ferguson would have been the starting QB over Dobbs this year once Worley went down IF Ferguson hadn't been such a freaking head case. Butch wasn't playing favorites or anything in the competition. When a man takes a job like the HC at Tennessee and is paid all that money, at times it comes with ridicule when someone thinks something is not being done the right way. Just comes with the territory. I'd think CBJ knows he can't please everyone in every situation. The late QB slip in maneuvers is just one I'm not a fan of. Do I think it played a role in the RF situation? Obviously I do.
I was one of the earliest pro CBJ guys on here. I said his resume made more sense for the $$ than Charlie Strong did. Yes, there are a few things I'd like to see CBJ change recruiting tactic wise. In time, I think he will come around. Hopefully it happens sooner than later. JMO
Should I show up at various times during his Stanford visit to say "go big orange" and flash the Vol sign? My team does share the same building as the football facilities...
Except that's not what is happening. Paulk is gone related to off the field stuff. Scott if he leaves is for completely different stuff instead of competition at RB.
QB who knows at this point BUT if Peterman is looking to be gone then maybe there is more need to take a third QB. I still don't know that the staff trusts Dobbs at this point. We're likely looking at a true freshman backing up Dobbs at this point regardless and the other two redshirting IF we even end up taking three.
I do think Jones should be up front with all parties BUT I do also think that all parties must understand that situations change and evolve over the course of time. If Dormady or Jennings aren't comfortable with competeting with current or future players on the roster at QB then I understand BUT likely they aren't going to find an easier path to the starting position than anywhere else. I do agree that likely we do have some future attrition at QB if we take all three BUT I would rather get the guy in this class.
Paulk is still at UT and the girl that was the accuser said he did nothing wrong now. Can see Jones letting Paulk rejoin the team. Especially with no charged filed, the girl admitting he did nothing wrong and if he is in good standing with his grades.
I do find it very odd how that whole thing has played out. People asked the question why was he "dismissed" so fast and not suspended and the process play out to assess his guilt or innocence. At the time, it was said he was dismissed because there was absolutely no doubt about what had happened. There were witnesses and CBJ was provided all he needed to make a quick decision on his own.
Now the girl is reported as saying nothing happened. It plays out all the time where the accuser changed their story and just wants to squash it for whatever reasons. More often than not, that does not mean it did not happen. I'm curious to see what actually plays out here.
I don't believe any of what you stated was ever officially confirmed by anyone; it was all speculation. I think it is pretty clear that Paulk got caught up in this at a time in our country where people were outraged how players were being disciplined. It has even been said that it was out of Butch's hands because it is department policy.
I have stated this several times that I know someone who indirectly knows Quarte Sapp. I didn't post it early because I figured people would not respond kindly, but I was told that Paulk was not the aggressor and that the Paulk and Sapp families were not happy. They felt he was a good kid and was merely protecting himself. Apparently, Gillespie visited Sapp before our UGA game at his game, and he was very uncomfortable with the questions being asked. Just speculation on my part, but it sounds like everything has been cleared. I think you can point to where we are with Sapp and logically say that there is a good chance Paulk is coming back.
I do think it sounds like Paulk is returning.
I just found it interesting that being accused of hitting a female apparently got Paulk "dismissed", while being accused of rape got AJ/MW suspended. The reasoning for the Paulk situation was reported that there was no doubt what had happened. Now if that were not the case, I guess I just don't get why he was dismissed and not just suspended and the legal process allowed to play out.
