Lol....i wouldnt have wanted to play for that gutless fool either
It wasn't just Bray that felt that way about Dooley. How many recruits did we miss on? How many guys left the team? Janzen, Bryce Brown, and the the Darick situation in the UK game.
Its not hard to connect the dots. I find it hard to believe Dooley wasn't the root cause for 95% of it.
I agree. And a few of us on VN called it early on Dools. Then we got slammed for being negavols. Everybody tried to support and like the guy as long as they could because he was our coach. But he was a lost ball in high weeds from Day One.
Gentry all day and all night. By all reports he is not a head case like Bray. At least not at this point.
Bray would not have been recruited by Fulmer/Cut. Maybe by Fulmer without Cut. Cut would have fixed the issue one way or the other early on had Bray already been on the roster when Cut came back. Bray has excellent talent. But it takes more than that to be successful as we know.
To develop a winning culture you need a coach with a winning mentality. Bray made mistakes but it wasn't nearly all his fault. Bray wanted to win. You could just tell if u watched close enough on the sideline and when they would come off the field on a 4th and 1 or 2. You could especially tell it in the Mizzou game. Even when he was a Freshman, the loco sign, the throat slash, etc. You could tell he was having fun and wanted to win. I think he just got sick of Dooley.
I was also at that game and saw him on the jumbotron pissed off and saying "This is ******* bulls**t" right after Dooley pulled him off the field. Maybe he just stopped giving a damn because he knew that it was always going to be something.I agree 100%, but I couldn't stand the lack of maturity that Bray showed a lot of times. I was sitting right behind the endzone at the 2012 game versus Mizzou. When losing after 4 tough OT's, you'd think he would be disappointed. But he walked off the field right underneath us laughing and cutting up with his buddies. It looked almost like a kid leaving high school football practice. It just really chapped me that day.

Having a coach that players believe in can help with the maturity part. He didnt respect Dooley, and im not sure I blame him.
I don't blame him either for that.
Speaking of Dooley, have you watched any of his post-game or post-spring practice press conferences and then watched Butch's? Night and day difference. It's unbelievable that we even hired Dooley in the first place.

Dooley just wasn't ready for the job and all that goes into being successful in the SEC. He was a likable enough guy but he was just in over his head. He would never have gotten the job if his last name wasn't Dooley IMO.

He might do a trade with you. He can show you how to use proper "rag" technique in the shower. His mother might make you feel uncomfortable as she will be sitting on the toilet during the instruction, but she has to make sure Dools is doing it right.
