He goes to the same high school as Jim Everett. Brian Urlacher was from a New Mexico high school that is far less known for its football. Players can play.
Check that, Chris Everett.

Jim Rome is burning!
I bet he don't call him that after getting smacked by him.
It's still early. When CBJ took E Moseleys commitment Charlotte was his only other offer. We'll see what happens. I'm curious to see how Nathan does at the Opening. I'm hoping he shows out and his offers start to roll in.
Where did you see he was invited to the opening because he wasn't on the official roster they tweeted out tonight of people that already got invited
Played in Texas, had PSU and Cuse offers, held back by injuries.
Regardless, you're talking about a minuscule group of guys.
Irrelevant. Offer lists mean nothing. Just like high school competition. These things are trivial when it comes to how good a player can be. It boils down to hard work, talent and coaching.

You're following the same logic of MLB scouts who denied the value of sabermetrics 10 years ago. Now, all those guys are out of jobs.
You're right, there's always exceptions, but there is also firm quantitative proof that offers from elite schools is a firm indicator of heightened potential for success at the next level. Outliers do not disprove that notion, sorry.

I would agree with you if these outliers were not happening every year. Every year, all around the country there are players who play well beyond their star ranking. Elite school offers are a best guess on whether or not a recruit has big time potential. It is not stated fact. If that were the case then every 4* and 5* star guys would turn out to be deserving of their ranking. That is not the case.
An offer list only means that a player has impressed the coaches enough to see possible future potential. That alone however does not mean that player is going to be successful. It also does not mean that a player who has little to know offers cannot become superstars. I really don't see how this is confusing. Sorry but like I said offer lists do not make the player. Hard work, talent and coaching does.
I think there is more worry about Alabama than Texas for Gentry after talking to a few people. Bama has really focused their QB efforts on him recently.
I wouldn't say they are the favorite, just that they've turned up the heat. Still think Tennessee is in a good spot, but like I've been saying this one isn't over and with Alabama turning up the heat it could get interesting.
