In the past, when our teams really struggled offensively in half-court sets (thanks in part to no outside threats), then we benefited pushing the ball. However, I think that was offset in many instances with poor transition defense going back the other way. So it was kind of a wash. They could play at any pace and it wouldn't effect their chances of winning much.
So far this year, I think we are actually better offensively when we slow it down. Grabbing offensive boards is obviously huge, but also it seems like we've got a couple guys who can knock down the 3 which opponents have to respect. And we've done a good job at getting to the line without having to push it.
