I love you too :( :(

Just caught up in this thread. JJ EEing could be huge. I'm not ready to knight Dobbs or write him off next year. It will be a battle, and Dormady/Jennings have a fair shot at starting as true froshes. Jennings style of play will be fun to watch in our offense

Agreed. I can't wait to see JJ in this offense.

Watching Dobbs in this offense make me even more excited to see JJ in this offense after Dobbs graduates. If JJ can continue to improve his passing each year like he did from last yr to this yr then he very well may be unstoppable in this offense

After last night, I hope people are starting to realize Dobbs will be just fine as a true dual threat QB in this offense. For our team to consistently compete for championships, we need to get to the place where true freshmen QB's are not counted on for playing time, get them in the system with a redshirt year and then see what they can do. That being said, if JJ continues to progress as a passer, could be looking at heisman potential. They do owe us one!

Jennings will definitely be a redshirt candidate next year. I want him to try at QB and I think he can be good if given the proper time in the weight room and practice. Kendall vs Dormandy vs Jennings at QB in 2016

Redshirt for Kendall. JJ and QD get another year under their belt while Dobbs starts his senior year. That QB competition is gonna be fun to watch in 2017.

Kendall won't be a candidate to start in 2016. He will be redshirting for sure. Moreover, Jennings and Dormady will likely be benched that year as well. The way Dobbs is playing, he is very unlikely to be supplanted his senior season.

The ideal scenario is one where Peterman stays, and backs up Dobbs next year. We redshirt both Jennings and Dormady in 2015. They start 2016 as redshirt freshmen, and spend all season backing up Dobbs while Kendall redshirts. We then enter 2017 with two talented third year sophomore QB's and a redshirt freshman backing them up.

Im worried about Dobbs getting hurt. If Peterman has to play, we are losing. Love the kid but he's not SEC material.

Well I thought Dobbs was gone that year. Sorry guys I confused most of you. Math has never really been my thing (yes and I know it's counting)

The good news is that Dobbs doesn't take a lot of hard hits. He has excellent vision, is more than a little bit elusive, he doesn't stand still in the pocket, and he has a solid frame that can handle a few knocks as well.

Not saying he won't get hurt...but that there's not as big of a chance with him as there was with Worley.

I wish he would slide a little bit more. He definitely cannot be running the ball 20 times a game.

You're definitely right there...but watching the replay, it looked like he did a solid job running to avoid contact. He got out of bounds, he slid (sort of) on occasion, and when he did neither, it was often true that he had an open field in front of him.

I'm thinking WAYYYY too early, that Hunter Johnson is going to keep it going in 2017 class.

I mean, we've got QB talent coming in for a while guys. It's quite nice.

Peterman is not going to transfer. He likes it here. Not everyone MUST become a starting QB. He works hard & leads by example. I think he will finish his career as a back up, but VFL, none the less

Thanks POA! I hope everyone had a safe Halloween! We had snow, sleet, and cold rain here in Indy but we bundled up and went out anyway. Glad to hear all the updates about JJ and all the future Vols! My oldest two and I are about to go do some Girlscout stuff and then come home and cheer the Vols to victory!

Wait....So which one's you Glicht?

It's getting back to the way it is supposed to be. We had a run of:

Andy Kelly - Heath Shuler - Peyton Manning - Tee Martin - Casey Clausen - Erik Ainge

We should be reloading when a QB moves on instead of dreading the results of the next man up to the plate.

Cutcliffe was also a common denominator during much of this time.

As were experiments with Jerry Colquitt, Todd Helton, Brandon Stewart, Joey Matthews, AJ Suggs, and Brent Schaeffer. We didn't just seemlessly transition into those guys without weeding through some others to get to that point.

Great point. But another point there is that we had choices to make, something we really haven't had much of over the past 6-8 years. Hoping for that to change in the coming years.

This. I think he'll finish his career in the same fashion as Matt Simms. A second string QB who helps the younger guys learn the system, and plays if called upon. I hope he at least stays next season so we can redshirt Jennings and Dormady.
