'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

I felt Hunter was pretty much fearless his Freshmen year. He ran routes hard and attacked the ball, but the knee really changed him. I can't say I blame him for playing cautious a year when millions of dollars were on the line...

He is still playing "cautious" now, four years later. Looks like he is about to cautiously play his way right out of the league.

As far as his junior year, it would seem he would have played all out. Prove his draft worth, so to speak (games against Akron & Georgia State notwithstanding). I wonder where would have been drafted had the Titties passed on him in the second round. Didn't seem to be very high on people's boards.

Weird career up to this point.

I have seen some say he won't see field much this year on this board since it's a new transition. I disagree. We want to rotate 8-10 WRs in an offense that wants to run 80-100 plays a game. He is too elite of a playmaker. They will find a way to get him the ball in every game whether it's pass, jet sweep or wildcat. He has already made such an impact in 3 days that in a month there is no telling where he will be.

Exactly. Even if he is just getting 5 snaps a game.

Go run a post JJ
Run a 10 and out
Hitch and go.

The nuances can be picked up over time

Jauan will be a force at the WR position. Kid is very athletic, aggressive and physical. He'll be able to get off press coverage with his physical ability and tenacity. Can't wait to watch him develop this season.

And he doesn't step on any "T's" in the locker room.

There's the real trouble. First Erik left Cookeville (and took our best players with him) when he was recruited by Riverdale, then he signs with the even worse Bama, then comes back to UT to flop in the original wildcat package. Somehow I always felt Juicy was behind it all.

I don't think he has the mentality to be the player he could. We are seeing that in Nashville right now.

JJ does IMO.

He's having a good camp so far from what I've heard. It usually takes NFL receivers a couple years to hit their stride. It's too early to definitively say that.

Maybe. He knows he is in a put up or shut up season.

We will see what happens when those pads are poppin hard and on game days.

His Soph year he was super aggressive. He was about to be a Heisman candidate with Bray throwing it. No one was going to stop him with how he was attacking the ball with his athleticism.

At the receiver spot, to no one's surprise based off what we've seen this first week, Jauan Jennings just continues to impress. He's showing soft hands, catching everything thrown his way at the moment and just looks like a natural at the position as he makes the adjustment. It's getting harder and harder to think that he won't have a chance to help this team in 2015; he's even battling for a spot in the first-line rotation.
