i just saw the hit by joc on espn was a good hit .i hate that people seem to always bash kids from Tennessee especially from east Tenneessee like they are no good or they dont play against good teams . there have been a bunch of great players from here play at UT and other fbs schools .UT has missed out on great players in their own backyard .NFL guys like Cobb cause of that kind of thinking .

Eagerly awaiting his response on here...I support his place on the team...I also support posters ability to express their views on here...within reason (nothing personal or slanderous)...don't see where I "smacked the kid down"...show me and I'll work on it. :hi:

So sorry but that is why I am just unimpressed with him. It has nothing to do with his ranking or star level. Miller is a 3* DB, the same as Bruce, but I think Miller's game is better. Not saying that it is a major determining factor but look at the offer lists between the two.

So Bruce is not going to play RB here. Highly doubtful he plays WR. Especially if CBJ can flip Jefferson or get Newsome (no guarantees). Even missing out on those guys we have Wharton to play the slot. So that leaves the possibility of DB. We are recruiting guys like Martin, Abernathy and Brazil. I just don't think he is on either of those guys level. So where does he really fit in?

So that's why I am unimpressed with him. I am comparing him to guys we already have and one we have good shots at getting. I would like to know if you honestly feel Bruce looks any better than anyone we are recruiting for the positions he is listed to play at. Having said all of that, I have been wrong a lot more times than right. So who knows. I hope that clarifies things.

This, I think, is a cogent and fair response. I don't entirely disagree with it, but I think Joc stays on regardless of what transpires because 1) He's a local kid that bleeds orange and loves UT, and 2) He has the intangibles, toughness, and work ethic that Butch Jones loves. I think he will be a 'glue' sort of guy- think Bobby Graham from a few years back or Dane Bradshaw in MBB- that all great teams seem to have.

I'd like to add that the kid has all this AND is a very good athlete. His skill shouldn't be overlooked.

I hear his ankle is in pretty bad shape.. So SD will have to rely on their 3rd+ string rbs to carry the load against Seymour this week.. They should be ok this game, but hope he recovers quick.

I truly hope this is made up but I heard Joc tweeted(dont have twitter, cant confirm) that he needs to stop reading his recruit page on Volnation. If true I just want to say the University of Tennessee is lucky to have Joc. He is a TN boy and a true VFL. It means alot that guys like Joc are still VFLs when theyve had plenty of reasons to find a more successful team while growing up during a rough patch for the good guys. If this is made up thats even better, and im sorry for the rant....but its well known that these guys do read these sites.

Its true. I was the one who put a post in this thread about how I don't think he is that good. It was in no way bashing the guy. I compared him to some guys we are recruiting and already have on campus at the same position he is projected at. I just don't see where he fits in. I also said he might be asked to go elsewhere. And I also said I could be totally wrong and if he is a Vol come NSD, then I am behind him 100%.

No offense to him or anyone else but this is a message board. I have read many other threads where people have expressed their opinions about recruits and they are not always positive. He should not let someones opinion get under his skin. Honestly, I doubt he took what I said seriously anyway.

Not sure how some.people gather what they do from certain posts on here. You can say whatever u. want, its a message board and this, for now is still Merica. I was simply saying with alot of TN boys going elsewhere the last several years, its nice to see some state pride in guys like Joc. That is all

If your name was on the recruiting forum, would you read it? I most definitely would! Does that mean it would cause JB to decommit? Who knows, but I wish ppl would think twice before they trash talk a 17 year old kid that wants to play football at our beloved university!

This kid is a great athlete. You get him on campus, and find out where he fits best. Reminds me of a former Tennessee player from Hillsboro High School.

It's funny that I support this kid but have been put on the opposite side of this (non)debate by supporting a poster who expresses doubt of him being in this class...this kid was never "trash talk"ed in this thread...not flaming this guy I'm responding to, but everyone needs to go back and read BOT's actual post...I'm sure the regular thought police types will still rail on anything not 100% positive, but this board was set up by an ultimate Vol fan...who lets it succeed by allowing different opinions and personalities to flow...it's not a rah rah pumpfest and any recruit and/or his parents need to recognize that. Butch isn't a member (that we know of) of this mess, so if a prospect bases his commitment on what we say here? Something else would probably go wrong. You crusaders for a vanilla greeting card site for recruits probably need to get your own Freak and set up your own board...you won't be missed.
