'15 TN DE Dylan Jackson (former UT commit)

If you believe in the Bible and go to church you are stuck in the 60's and a racist? SMH...........you seem to have a little bit of an issue with being judgmental yourself.

Let me clarify what I meant because I think one poster misinterpreted what I was saying and the rest of you have run with that. I was speaking in terms of the racial segregation that exists between Alcoa and Maryville and that it very much resembles the makeup of a southern community that hasn't evolved much socially. I have no problems with anyone's religious beliefs. I just think that in Blount County, they have tried to legislate around these beliefs and that has slowed down the economic progress of that community. The best example was how long it took to pass a restaurant referendum allowing establishments to open which served alcohol. If you wanted to get something to eat in Blount County prior to the opening of Applebee's on Alcoa HWY in 1994, you were pretty much headed to a fast food restaurant. Now, I really don't come on here to discuss these matters and probably shouldn't have posted what I did here but did not mean to cause an uproar. Go Vols.

I know Clemson isn't SEC, but Jay Guillermo is a solid contributor on their offensive line.

Interesting name to bring up. I just thought that him and Jelks would be starting for us had we got them when Dooley was here.

Also, what was the OL name that went to GT from the mid state area, was it Shaq something? Is he playin well?

At least you like the Braves too. :)

You keep posting about Maryville and the segregation issue they have, and it's highly inaccurate. Maryville is filled with some of the smartest kids in East TN. When I started college, I had people in my science classes from Maryville that where leaps and bounds more prepared for those classes than I was. I took honors classes in high school, and I was a straight A student. Still, I looked highly unintelligent compared to most Maryville grads. Maryville kids are some of the most well mannered, educated people in the East TN area. Yes, some hold a sense of arrogance to them, but they aren't roaming the East TN area with some personal vendetta to destroy the black community of their surrounding counties. You also made the mistake of saying these so called "segregated people" are like those of 1960's Christian people. This again is so not true. For one, not all elderly people who are Christian that come from the East TN area are racists. You then proceeded to fallaciously group an entire county into one segregated community without ever acknowledging the fact that almost every Southern county has a racists or two. You can't group an entire congregation of people as "segregated" just because you ran into a few from the Maryville area that fit your inadmissible "segregated" model.

my wife, her father and all their cousins aunts and uncles, my brother in law, and sisters husband and all his family hail from murvall. my insurance agent is also from marvull.

murvillians, despite being a bit dry yes. and honestly a bit boring, yes. rest assured. they are Christians each, graduates of Marvull high, intelligent, but, not biggoted in any manner.

now, after having responded to arguably the dumbest discussion ever. is this kid a vol?

Train wreck thread.

IMO it would be a big mistake to lose a recruit with this much size and talent that is a proven winner to another school. Big mistake. Strong, intelligent player.

If UT were recruiting him 100% as a DE I think he would be a Vol. IMO the OL talk has him flipping shortly. Kid just wants no part of it at all.

I'm sure CBJ and the staff will sit down and let him know where he stands. If they want him at DE, they will tell him. But I doubt they will make promises about the long term if DE doesn't pan out. Or they need him elsewhere. Jackson should be a Vol. 20 years from now he will regret flipping. I think he stays unless someone else has claimed his spot.

I agree and that's no longer my fault...I deleted my first two posts and tried to explain what was meant by them.

Let's hope we land Jackson, can never have enough D linemen. Go Vols and for tonight - Tigers.

Jay was a Sr year transfer from South Carolina that grew up a Clemson fan. There was never a chance in that one

JG was a life long Clemson fan. His family was only here for a couple of years, although they had other fam who live here. Clemson was his dream school. He wasn't coming to UT with a Clemson offer.

Yeah, wasn't he even a Clemson legacy? Anyway, we were never going to get him.

Jelks, now that's a different story.

Ya, I got him confused with someone else, perhaps Bars, but he's probably too young to contribute now.

Anyhow, what about this Shaq guy? Perhaps he an Jelks would be an asset this season

Yea Shaq will play in the league. Undersized but POWERFUL OG

So, my speculation Is correct; that we could o had him and Jelks, and they would likely be starters this year, and maybe we would have won more games

Big, big emphasis on maybe. Still lack depth atamy positions, I don't think a couple of linemen would have changed the makeup of our season that much.
