I strongly disagree.
If we could of had a servicable OL this season it could of changed everything and we might of won those close games and possibly been playing Bama tomorrow.
Barnett does not just have more TFLs than Garrett by a large margin, he is tied with Missouri's Shane Ray for 3rd in the country in TFL behind just Scooby Wright III from Arizona and Hau'Oli Kikana from Washington.I see first team all sec, first team freshman all American, if they have a freshman defensive player of the year award he better win it. I know that kid from A&M has more sacks but I'm pretty sure Barnett has more tfl's and is better in run support.

Is it really I knew he had more didn't know it was that much more. Even more reason he should be freshman player of the year in the conference. I know it's along shot but I think there is a case for sec defensive player of the year.
Na, Ray has that wrapped up since he has as many tfl as Barnett. Garret only has like one more tfl than he has sacks, whereas Barnett has over 20. Garret and Barnett aren't even comparable up to this point if you look at more than just how many sacks they have.
It's just fascinating following Barnett's recruitment...he went from a TE prospect to 4 star DE who most had below Hendrix...and the usual speculation about moving him to DT...His grandfather was a Buckeye and Franklin had his mother's ear...then the late flirtation with Mizzou. All that before HE ACTUALLY SHOWED UP!! I was watching the A Football Life on Mean Joe Greene and what struck me was from when he showed up at North Texas, you could see the greatness...this is what we're seeing here.

I wonder if the staff has any thoughts of putting weight on this guy and moving him to OT. Looks plenty of athletic enough.
I just want DJ in orange. Get him in camp and let the coaches and him figure it out. The great thing is he is very athletic and has a nice frame to be developed for more than one position.

Agree with this. Jumbo athlete who could contribute at multiple spots on both sides of the line. His physical development during the next two years and natural ability will determine where he plays. If he doesn't like that, he can go chill with Jason Carr.
I don't think he has any desire to give OT a shot. Even Phillips was quoted as saying he would give OT a go if need be. That's the kind of player I want.
I agree. Once he gets there with the guys he will figure out quickly that he is not the big man on campus getting what he wants any more. Then it will be more "where do I fit in, coach?" That will happen no matter where he goes in the big leagues.
I think it comes down to UT has mentioned OL and LSU has not. He trusts that he will be a DE at LSU as apparently that is what they have told him. Yes, anything can happen once a kid signs. I'd rather see CBJ do the right thing and be honest with the kid. If he does not want any part of playing OL and that is where the staff sees him best fitting, don't take him knowing he will be unhappy and likely transfer.
