He got that 4th star.
Happy for the kid as he has earned it.
I'd be lying if I did not say I'm surprised though. With Tennessee being his only offer and him committing as early as he did, I expected him to stay a 3 star as I doubt he even picks up the phone to listen to other coaches recruiting him.
Maybe Rivals does not hate us?![]()

I hate to be a Debbie downer but this kid isn't SEC material IMO. I think the staff reached on this one. Especially being so early in the Recruting process and a kid you could easily get late. I saw him personally against Gordonsville and their tackles had him on his back for most of the night. Granted, those two tackles for Gordonsville were special for 1A ball. But I recommend some of you watching that game if you can, not just the highlights. Lack of scheduling is also a concern. But congrats to the young man.
People may think it's strange but this Butch Bump thing may be real. I mean not just with Stewart. We semi-pass on Sterling Johnson and he gets dropped to a 5.6. Makes you wonder. :ermm:
I'd say Zach performing well at camps and Sterling struggling had more to do with it, but I'm all for going with Butch being the reason though.
I'd say this has a lot to do with it, but I also think it started this year and you'll see a lot more of it in the future. Butch Jones offering a kid and then everyone else following suit. This staff has an eye for talent and several times this year they were weeks, and in this case, months ahead of everyone else spotting it.
Go Butch Orange!
