'15 TN DT/OL Zach Stewart (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I love the job CBJ and staff are doing. I am confident we will be back to seeing Tennessee winning 9-10 games a year shortly. With that said, if you pretty much offer everyone early on, of course it's going to look like other schools are following your move. :)

Lol......good point.

That's a mean looking dude...

“The commitment’s solid and has been for the whole time,” “I’ve not heard from anybody else, so there’s no reason to waver (on) it. And there wouldn’t be, anyway, because Tennessee is what I want. It’s 45 minutes from my house, and it’s what I grew up enjoying and watching. They’ve been good to me and real to me since the first day, and I’m tight with the guys in the class. “I enjoy everything they’ve got going on up there.”

“I knew I made the right decision the first time they talked to you, just because they treat you like a real person,” he said. “They treat you like you’re part of the football family. Coach Jones talks about that all the time. He said they would win championships with or without you, and I want to be a part of that, because I know he’s telling the truth.”“These guys have a lot of talent,” he said, “and we should be very good, this class.”

“Still talking with mom, dad and little brother, thinking in my own head,” he said. “I’m not completely sure yet, but the possibility is there. I’m taking all my required classes this fall semester, so I would have the chance to (be an early enrollee).”

Stewart, who plays right tackle at Coalfield, said he has spent this offseason “trying to improve anything I can” in the weight room and make himself more versatile on the field. He said he recently bench-pressed 425 pounds and squatted more than 500. “I’m not sure (what position I will play at Tennessee),” he said. “Haven’t really discussed it with (offensive line coach Don Mahoney). All I know is I’m going to go down there and do whatever he needs me to do and whatever can help me get on the field the fastest and benefit the team.”98

So many fans are sleeping on this recruit. He's a three year starter that will maul the opponents. He knows what it means be an orange blooded VFL and that is all he has ever wanted to be. Jalen Hurd will be buying him many a meal for clearing room for him.

I don't know anyone who is sleeping on him honestly. Most recognize he's going to be a really good road grading guard for us.

I see multitudes of posts on how badly they need O-linemen. Very few even mention his name as a commitment and if they do it's just a casual mention - somewhat like they have discounted Crowder, Kerbyson, and Sanders because they are east TN guys that never wanted to play the recruiting game when they got that UT offer.

Zach is to the interior O-line what Kahlil is to the interior D-line. Just not a glory position that most focus on, yet a critical position of need. That's all I meant by sleeping on him. Most focus on the glory positions, yet say we need big uglies and then demand they sign 5 DT's a year. It's the VN way. It doesn't have to make sense. :)

The reason people aren't mentioning him while talking about needs on the OL is because we are in sore need of OT's. We have started building some nice depth in the interior line, but the tackle positions need serious help.
