'15 TN DT/OL Zach Stewart (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Meh..

His stats on defense tonight

11 tackles
3 sacks
2 forced fumbles
1 fumble recovery
34-32 victory versus Copper Basin.

Proud of my beloved Cougars, thought it was going to be a woodshed beating like last year. With only six seniors, they did better than I expected. Go Cougars, Go Vols

I was there. He took over on the O and D line in the second half. The kid has to play both ways on a single A team. The most impressive thing I saw was seeing him lead a punt returner for 50 yards down the field. I think he will be a great O guard.

I'm from Copper Basin. Not saying he isn't good but a better understanding of his dominance needs to be looked at versus a bigger school. Basin's OL is nowhere near the size of bigger schools. But I am proud of them playing Coalfield close. I expected a blowout

A blowout by coalfield? Stewart is a good player, but they're still coalfield..

As a man who played A ball on a championship caliber team, I can say the best lineman in the country couldn't turn a single A school in TN into a perennial contender against schools even two classifications bigger. Now, a DI QB or RB or WR maybe. But even the best linemen can't make slow guys faster or weak guys stronger. There's just too much talent difference.

On VQ's new show The Extra Point, Fortenberry was raving about Stewart. Said he thought he should be in the top 250.

Didn't they play catholic Friday night? Does anybody have any stats from that game curious to see how he did playing against better competition. Not the copper basins and oakdales of the world.

Do you not agree with the UT coaches giving him a scholarship?
You do realize that he has performed really good at camps against better competition than he is gonna play against this year.

One of favorite things about this class is the amount of linemen we are going to have from the state of Tennessee. They just seem to play harder.

No not at all if the coaches think he was worth a scholarship than I trust there opinion they know a whole lot more than I do. I won't lie though I am always skeptical of single a talent though. I have said it before I hope mr Stewart becomes a all American, I just always hold judgement for single a players especially in east tn, but I hope he ends up being a beast. And on a side note camps are a good way to get your rating up and name out there but they also don't wear pads in most of these camps so it's different with pads on.

Zach Stewart will be an All-American before he leaves the hill. He's a special guard.

He walked right in front of me as I was walking towards the gate after the Vol Walk. He's definitely a big dude.

I know this doesn't mean much because Jack Jones looks fairly unintimidating, yet by all accounts is a monster on the field, but Zach Stewart just looks like an OLineman should look (mean, intimidating, etc). He definitely passes the eyeball test from a physical standpoint.
