The company I worked at for 11 years has their corporate in Jackson, MS. Unless things have made a drastic turn around since 2010, my last year with the company I respectfully disagree with you. I had a CEO that was a State alum that had black caterers (servants) for all his tailgating. It would make you sick the way he spoke to them and treated them. I was ashamed to even be there and left. I point out this one instance but have witnessed many more during my 11 years of visiting Mississippi.
I will agree Tennessee has their fare share but is further along IMO.

Side note, look at this link. Mississippi leads with Tennessee not far behind. 6 of the top 10 are in SEC country.

Back to Van, looks like he did allow an in-home visit with OM, no mention of TN doing the same. OV to OM this weekend per 247.

Confused by some comments on here saying he hates UGA's offense yet calls his future QB every week.

I'm telling you, Drew Richmond is playing a "broker" role right now. They've got a non-enrolled player willing to play the game and keep his mouth shut when he needs to, and he's letting other kids knows there's some benefits to playing at OM for CHF

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe this. Then I think about the danger you mentioned of kids keeping their mouth shut. Say a kid chooses UT cause he does not need the cash, then tell UT coaches hey this happened. Could it not get that school and the player playing broker in trouble? Just seems unlikely.... Kids have huge mouths

Normally, I try to think of it as a pretty clean business. I know it's got its dirty side, I'm sure we do our fair share of helping players and families out. But then you have the cam newtons of the world.

To me, the only thing that makes sense about the weirdness of the DR recruitment is if there's some extracurricular assistance going his way.

Not trying to sling mud, it just seems logical to me. Especially as it pertains to his recruiting other kids while on a visit and things like that

Richmond goes to a private school...does he really need the side money? And Jefferson's dad is a NFL coach...does he really need the money?

Guess Van ends up going completely against his dad's and mom's wishes, and goes with the 3rd school.

True, and I'm not trying to convince everybody of it. Not gonna go all LV about it :crazy:

I'll say this though... I've known plenty of private school kids who would love to not have to go thru mom and dad for cash

This thread is starting to get a bit confusing. Let me see if I have this straight. Mom loves GA, but hates UT. Dad likes UT, but hates Ole Miss. Kid really likes UT, hate GA's offense, but is taking unexpected visit to Ole Miss this weekend, and could possibly make a quick stop in Knoxville before heading to Oxford......Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. Wow!

Pretty much sums it up. Not sure on whether he's taking a quick visit to Knoxville or not. de1 mentioned something about an express drive by, so trying to see what he meant by that. I'm going to guess the kid goes against both of his parents' wishes and ends up at Ole Miss. His dad has said that, although he loves TN, he will not push Van one way or the other, and hopes that he will make the best decision (this info came from de1).

He is still going to Ga this weekend. Said he would do a one day trip to OM on Sunday. (His words). It basically just sounds like he is just wanting the attention, I'll believe he is in Oxford when they have pics. He has said he will do trips for months and never does. Said he wants to go with a friend (Richmond) sounds like a hotty toddy time

Oh, I thought he was taking an OV for the weekend there. This might be what de1 was referring to as an express drive by. Maybe he is visiting all 3 from Friday through Sunday. Who knows? That sure would be a lot of driving.
