Well UGA is definitely all his mom and Coach J definitely wanted UT but due to the complications with his mom I have no clue what will happen now. At the Mr. Football banquet mom gv CTT the cold shoulder and wasn't very receptive. Very weird situation and all I can say is dad hates Ole Miss and what the state of Mississippi stands for but who knows it's one of the most peculiar situations I have ever dealt with. I will say this Van loves CBJ and believes in whats about to happen in Knoxville, just can't get through the cover 2 his mom is putting up.

one of the most bizarre recruiting f ups I've ever seen. but let me give yawl a little inside info on all this. Richmond told coaches last year he would be a VOL because he and Mosely were boys and they'd play OL together and dominate to help restore the UT pride. Well somewhere between then and now with all the eggs in the basket UT lost out to Ole Piss. Presumably a person in Memphis told me it was some great benefits involved. I have no clue what they were so I'm not stating cash etc just heard this end part recently.

Yea that situation seems very bizarre. Is his Mom just anti Tennessee for some reason? I would think she would lean on the experience of Van's Dad seeing he has been around this stuff his whole life and knows where the better situation is for their son. I get it Richt is a great guy but if his offense doesn't fit what her son likes she shouldn't force it on him. Curious to see how this plays out because I have no trust in what Williams will end up at.

Just because they are offering benefits up front still doesn't mean it's the better place to end up. Not saying UT or anyone is better than OleMiss but if OleMiss wasn't his choice before the benefits then he is going for the wrong reason.Hell this is college football it's not like he won't get taken care of anywhere he goes, especially in the SEC. But will put OleMiss right up there with Ala and Au when it comes to being more shady than others.Ala and Au have been ahead of the shady curve since the 80'sbetter atleast.

I've heard from more than one person that I trust that Richmond got "help" with getting a car and the family got "help" as well. Something about a very sick relative of his I think.

Memphis has been shady for as long as I can remember, guess it hasn't gotten any better. If I was Butch I would just about stay the hell away from that area. I know Fulmer had kinda gotten away from there or atleast not near as much when Ala had a runner there getting them Memphis guys. I know some kids come from less than others and when money and help like that is getting thrown at you it will cloud your judgement and decision making. Sounds like Freeze has set up shop there.

So, what I've gained from reading all this is that Van's mom is a crazy... woman, who possesses some sort of personally vendetta against UT... I blame Dooley. It's always on Dooley in "fudged" up situations like these...:scare:

Freeze sicked the Tuhoy( however you spell it) family on Richmond and his parents so yeah i believe shadiness went down on that one. Richmonds even makes comments that make it sound like he would be a Vol if it wasn't for other things.
