'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

The thought of possibly losing him to Urban Meyer makes me throw up in my mouth.

Not trending in the right direction.

Sounds like Van is trying to have one last ditch effort to convince Dad that Urban isn't a bad guy and give his blessing on OSU.

We may still win out if it doesn't work, but we will see.

Sorry to be negative...but you'd have to think at some point our depth chart at WR will hurt us with some of these guys.
Or he is just honoring his word and giving OSU the last visit before he commits, as he promised them.

I truly believe that the family is just doing their due diligence. One last visit to the other 2 of the final 3 to make sure you are comfortable closing it out and committing. Just seem like the type to shut it down after announcing.

You are correct. Van and his family obviously believe in handling things in a polite and progressional manner. He is checking everything over to make sure he is absolutely positively sure about his decision.

That an unreasonably negative way to interpret those comments. He'a had visits planned for a long time, and he's going on them to help him decide where he wants to play. Doesn't mean that's bad news for us.

Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood wide receiver*Van Jefferson*and his parents Marla and Shawn flew to Columbus on Tuesday night. They visited Ohio State all day today and finished things up late this afternoon.

"Bustling through the airport," Marla texted. "Had a great visit. Chat later." All Vol nothing to worry about here. Kept his word & visited.

A one day visit to Ohio State (that we knew was coming weeks ago) is not cause for panic or a cue to expect the worst. He kept his word, and that looks good on his character to me.

As far as depth concerns go... He can get easily get into the rotation by his freshman year the way I see it. We had walk on receivers getting playing time behind Howard, Patterson, Hunter, and Rodgers just a couple years ago. I expect a top 10 receiver has nothing to worry about in that regard.

Great WRs tend to leave college and enter the draft early. You have to reload with the top WRs every year now. Marquez North will likely leave for the NFL Draft after his junior season.

Spot on. I'm not saying we shouldn't go after him. Butch needs to get this kid. Just saying its good to be loaded at WR. Just ask team 117! WRU back in business

I agree
As much as it pains me to admit it , there is a slight chance that some of these guys here now may not live up to the hype.

Yeah i wont name names but wr could be a spot where a few people are culled after this season. Theres 3-4 that just arent producing and with guys like malone and williams on deck theyre about out of time

I look at it like this. By the time can gets here North is a jr, Pearson if he hasent left for the nfl is a senior. Then you have the possibility of North going pro then too. Pig will be gone by then and Croom is still unproven. Malone should be a stud, I really think he will be and Preston Williams and van will be freshman, and as talented as they both are they will have some adjusting to do to get ready for the college game. In my mind we really need to get van to assure we have great quality depth for the next couple yrs.
