'15 TN WR Van Jefferson

I agree. Just like to keep the big instate prospects here. I really like Jefferson but like u it wont be the end if we dont get him

That is where am with this one as well. Hope to get him as I want all the better instate talent to be Vols. If he does not want to be a Vol, on to the next one.

Why would Van Jefferson want to go to TOSU? Torrance Gibson is gonna be the QB there in a couple of years and according to some of the posters on VN he won't be able to get Van the ball on a regular basis.

Truly elite receivers really want to block for their QBs. :yahoo:

Even with the great additions we've had at WR, Van could contribute day 1 here. Not sure if that's the case at OSU.

I've never believed Percy Harvin is so great. Great potential when healthy but has never really had any consistency that I can recall, maybe 1 or 2 good seasons as a pro with a huge amount of unearned salary..

He earned his salary with his Super Bowl performance.

Ohio St has a better, deeper, more talented WR corp than UT?

I don't know OSU's roster, but we throw the ball more and probably rotate more. I am guessing that is what he means. Our style is conducive to getting a WR on the field sooner.

Percy Harvin is a stud. He's had health problems, but he is the prototype for the matchup nightmare slot guy.

Harvin is a beast when healthy. Absolute difference-maker at 3 positions. Has garnered a somewhat unfair stigma of not being able to stay healthy, but through his first three seasons, he only missed three games. Then played the first nine games of his fourth season before the ankle injury that landed him on IR. Last season, a freak hip labrum tear sidelined him, and the back-to-back injuries have cast the "fragile" label on him.

We saw what a difference he makes in the Super Bowl when he is on the field.

Uhhh, he's an absolute stud. He was unstoppable in college when healthy. Pretty close to the same in the NFL too (like someone else said, see last year's Super Bowl). He's just always had health issues.

The better point is that Percy Harvin was going to be an awesome wide receiver regardless of coaching because he is a top shelf athlete even by NFL standards, but, aside from Harvin, CUM has not produced another legit NFL WR. Van appears to have NFL athletic potential but is not the same level athlete as Harvin (not many are even in the NFL). So, does Van (and his father) believe CUM, et al., or CBJ, Azzani, et al., present a better opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the NFL? Based on track record, I think UT is the answer and that's not including considerations like distance, integrity of the coaches, etc., that will also play a role in the decision.

Y'all are surprised at what LP said? Lol, according to him Wegzyn has a legit shot at QB... so is there anything else to discuss?
