'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Making any sort of assessment on Josh Dobbs based on him coming in during the meat of our schedule after getting fourth team reps in practice as a true freshman with receivers who were barely functional is silly.

He may never be good, or he may be the next Vol great. We don't have enough information to predict either way though.

The point I was making was he didn't improve at all..he was not accurate, little arm strength and not very good pocket presence..Agree he did come into the meat of the schedule but he looked aweful against Vandy, a game we should have fun and Croom bailed him out a few times against UK, plus some FCS teams could have beaten that UK team. But you are right he could become the next great QB or never start another game.

We also didn't have North against Vandy, and the rest of our WRs were doing nothing all season. I get people not having a great feeling about Dobbs, but personally I have a totally blank slate for him still.

No we don't. He needs to RS. I wish people would understand this.
If he's the best, he needs to start. I hope most of our freshmen are ready to start/play next year, we will need most of them just like this year.

Notice I didn't say, we need QD to start or anything about him actually starting. I said he needs to be ready to. We have no depth at all at QB, and realistically he may have to play.

Worley hasn't been great. He's shown toughness and leadership, but his play hasn't been great. I'm still worried about Worley

Considering the five rolls of tissue paper he has in front of him, I'd say he's done fairly well.

Fran Tarkenton wouldn't look good behind this line.

Still there have been multiple times he has had time and just made the wrong read on a pass or just make a terrible throw. And I'm not trying to hate. He's played a lot better than last year and is clearly the best QB on roster.

Him not being able to win us the UF game really proved a lot to me on just how average he really is. But like I said he's the best we've got and the leadership he brings is huge. Plus last year he was well below average so there's the improvement factor too

Lucky for all of us our jobs are not on the line based on how well we can get a 18-20 yr old to throw a football and make correct split second decisions. There are people who have that job though so why don't we leave it in their hands and just enjoy the outcome. This is supposed to be a fun diversion from real life. Not life or death.

He has played poorly more than he should, but it's hard to judge a guy when his internal clock is all ****** up because his line is good to give up a couple kill shots a game.

There's hardly any teams that have good "depth" at QB. It's a position with little turnover and nobody knows anything at all about the backup truthfully. Dobbs and Peterman are a decent start at a QB competition next year. The sad part is with any QB competition the loser of that battle is always labeled a waste until the starter starts sucking. Then he's good again.

I personally think a lot of the good teams have QB depth. Not all, but a good bit. Arguable though.

I'm not saying neither will be good, but they didn't beat an average QB for the job this year so.... Obviously they can improve and I hope they do and one of them wins the Heisman. I just won't believe it until I see it (not them winning the Heisman, either of them being a good starting QB in the SEC). They both have the tools to run our offense

Just because I'm not optimistic, doesn't mean I'm labeling them as waste. I could label some players on our roster as waste, but I will elect not to

A very true statement. I just know some on here talk like he's so much better than he really is. He is what he is. I'm glad he's a VFL, because I don't think we'd fair quite as well without him this year.

I think that most are comparing this year to last year's Worley. He has really improved under Jones.

Worley has also been beat to hell and back, including a few shots to his arm,so keep that in mind when saying Worley hasn't played that well...all things considered,I think he's played pretty damn well...and this weekend will only get worse for him...

Getting beat down doesn't give you a hall pass to make more mistakes. It just means you have to be tougher.

Yes he's been beat to smithereens. Yes he's much, much improved. Yes he's a great leader of our team. Yes he's proven to withstand the punishment he's been given. No he's not a good QB. Just a much improved, average one.

Like I said I'm not complaining. He's exceeded my expectations and at times he's looked really good. Other times... Well let's just say I attended the UF game. Also I watched the OU game.

He's shown flashes of being better than average at times. UF was ugly though. One thing I've wondered is if Worley has been in the program so long that UF is just in his head.

Nope I sure don't and maybe mine will change over time.

I still don't think I'll ever be against someone expressing their first amendment rights. I may tell my future kids to plug their ears though

My brother in law took his 4 y/o to a Raiders game. Bought rounds of beer for the section if they kept it PG... Cost him, but the others fans kept it classy. Lots of beer to keep Raiders fans classy :)

I have never been a fan of First Amendment Rights for nazis, kkk, or other hate mongers. They make me want to bear arms (my Constitutional Right) I am sure there is an argument for them, but I do not agree. I am all New Testament unless you eff with my family, then there is nothing but Old Testament in my Soul :hi:

Curious: how did you talk about Peyton Manning after loses to uf? I am guessing you are not old enough.

I saw several bad decisions that appeared to be Worley trying to make a big play. Football is a team sport. If you were trying to lead the team and win, could you make these plays? I understand being upset by a loss, but the overall attack is getting old too.

So I should give up my right to free speech because there's kids around? How about you give up your right to a fair trial because I don't think you deserve one and you can rot in prison for something you didn't do?

It doesn't work that way. I have every right to say that just as you have every right not to.

For the record, I didn't chant that :) I was with my parents and friends. Hence the respect and whatever else you were talking about. I wasn't (and with a child I still wouldn't either) be upset or tell someone to stop. That's absurd and goes against the first amendment.

I was just always told to watch how I would act around children. It is called being a gentleman and has nothing to do with our Constitution. I did not say we should put someone in jail. All I asked was to show some class with your language with children around. What is actually absurd is how you equate acting with dignity and class (which you say you would) with someone saying you can't have free speech. You could say out loud in from of a child that you want to **** their mama and you have free speech but no class. You would also then see my right to bear arms which is the second amendment but it would be my bicep as I broke your front teeth with my fist when you said it to my wife in front of my kid. :) but not to much :)

I hope you get the point now.
