'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Yep

Everyone thinks a true freshman quarterback in the SEC is going to be the answer. I'd love to see some recent track record on that line of thought.

Dobbs

Might be possible behind a great Oline but not ours. As Freshman Peyton and Ainge had a good Oline to protect them giving more time and a better running game to help out.

IMHO. I do not think Dobbs will start next yr. I think Dormady has a chance to be the starter. He has a cannon for an arm and like I said is able to run enough to keep the defense honest. I would compare him to be a little like Flacco is. Also Dormady is able to throw on the run cross his body which is a very good tangible to have.

I love QD but what have you seen in his arm strength to compare it to Flacco? Also how do you know Dobbs cannot do the same things as QD? Have you seen something we haven't?

Worked out okay the last time we had a white pro-style and african american dual threat starting as freshman. Ainge and Schaeffer 2.0? Except JJ is a far more intelligent human being than Schaeffer.. eeeesh.

in b4 that's racist gif

It did work well. That was many moons ago.

Give us a true left tackle and slide everyone back to their true positions and well be better. Give josh dobbs a chance to start and hopefully well at least get better as the season goes on in 2015.

IMO Dobbs will be the starter in 2015 and Peterman will be #2. I think that is exactly why CBJ is RSing Dobbs this year as IMO he would be #2 behind Worley right now. CBJ is rolling the dice that Worley stays healthy enough to finish the year and it would not waste a year for Dobbs in mop up duty. Jennings and Dormady RS IMO in 2015. Then I expect to see Kendall RS for 2016.

I think people sell Dobbs short after he was thrown to the wolves last year because of injuries. The kid is talented and does move pretty well. His time in the system IMO gives him a huge advantage over the new guys coming in. I think he easily wins the QB battle in 2015.

Dobbs will be the starter next year. I wish we had a mix of Dobbs and Worley. Now Dobbs definitely cant make all of the throws Worley can, but damn it would have been nice to have his legs on some of these zone read plays this year. You will probably see the playbook open up a lot more next year with a line that has a year under its belt.

I hope Dobbs has kept his speed while adding all that weight. He wasn't really a burner to begin with.

If Dormady can get a great grasp of the playbook and he's the best man for the job, I say go for it. However, since Dobbs has been here multiple years and knows the playbook already, I would give the leg up to Dobbs. I just want a QB that can help us win (whoever that may be). That's all I'm concerned about

Are you aware that Dormady's father, his head coach, got with the UT staff and implemented the UT playbook as their offense?

Dobbs may not be able to make all the throws that Worley can now. Doesn't mean he won't be able to next year.

Playbook is one thing but implementing it against SEC-caliber competition is another. The speed of the game is vastly different. There will still be quite a bit of adjustment needed.

This is one area where I totally agree with you. Dobbs will likely start next season. Hopefully he's improved immensely from his freshman year.

Someone may prove me wrong, but I doubt they are implementing our playbook. Maybe some of the terminology and even some plays, but I think people are blowing it out of proportion. Starting a freshman quarterback in this conference is not a good idea. We always want to believe that the new guy is the answer immediately. Not just at quarterback either. It hardly ever works out that way. I expect to see Dobbs or Peterman start next year.

He will be much more prepared for our offense than any other QB ever to enroll at Tennessee. If he has the skills needed, there will no problem with him getting serious playing time/ I also believe with JJ honing his passing skills this year, he will play some meaningful time also. He will be able to make our opponents prepare to defend both the passing and running games. With another year of off season S&C and an the experience gained this year, our offense will be more than able to hold its own next year. Our defense will continue to grow and we will become a force in the next two years.

Dobbs may not have Michael Vick speed, but when he commits to a run, he actually commits to it.

Every run I've seen from Worley looks like he's ready to be tackled at any moment.
