'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

4.15 is an great shuttle for a QB.

For comparison, that would place 2nd for a QB at the 2014 NFL combine. Only Manziel's was better with a 4.03.

Agreed and it's not like a QB needs to run a 4.4 forty in this offense. Just be quick and have some agility.

That's why a redshirt for the QB in this offense is so beneficial.

It definitely is a huge benefit, not to mention being able to adapt to class schedule, practice, being away from home. Especially for guys as skinny as Dobbs. But doesn't always work out that way and they have to play.

On what do you base this?

Hudl says it's Nike Sparq verified for both athletes. Is your source more reliable?

Even if it happened at the NFL combine, hand-held stopwatch times are notoriously unreliable. I think we can infer from the rushing touchdowns on his highlight film and the fact that Jennings is apparently a 5-star safety prospect that he's quicker than Quentin Dormady. Also, I doubt Quentin Dormady can do this on a basketball court.

Are we talking about football or basketball? I don't think Dormady has played basketball in quite some time so you are probably correct.

Funny how some discredit and discount what the professionals in the business rely upon. You can infer and speculate all you want. I'm just asking if the guy has a better source for information.

So Dormady is faster than Dobbs?

Dormady is a 4.73 forty guy whereas Dobbs was around 4.6 if you believe in those 40 times. Shuttles were 4.15 for Dormady and 4.3 for Dobbs.

4.15 for a guy that is 6'4" 210 lbs is just ridiculous. Some of the height/weight stats are not accurate. If Dormady is a pound under 210 I would be surprised. He is a big kid with an underrated arm. Of course, I am a little biased. :eek:lol:

I think the questioning of the 4.15 came from the fact that he runs a 4.73 and is a "big kid" at 6'4 210. I know I did a double take when the 4.15 was first posted. It just looks out of place is all.

I think it will be a fun competition to watch, but I'm still thinking that Jennings ultimately wins out.

I agree that number looks really insane. That's faster than a lot of DBs and WRs post coming out of high school.

I think Dormady will have the edge. He already has the play book and will be an EE. Hopefully Dobbs is the answer and both can red shirt.
