It's pretty interesting to me that DT QBs seem to be nearly essential to winning at the highest level in CFB--ex. Oregon, Ohio State, and even Bama all have QBs that can run effectively and run frequently and FSU has Winston who can run effectively when needed. On the other hand, the DT QBs are not really panning out in the NFL. RG3, Locker, and to an extent Kaepernick (sp?), among many others, are fairly good examples. Thus, there may be a tension between what NFL teams want and what college teams are producing because it seems that traditional pro-style QBs, for a variety of reasons, are truly the only QBs that thrive in the NFL.
The NFL is an entirely different animal. DT QB's will not last in the league. Owners don't want to pay millions of guaranteed dollars for someone who could be sidelined with one hit. Their shelf life is limited in the NFL.
Don't understand why this concept is so difficult. People keep saying "if we take the QBs one will end up transferring." Yeah, the one that finishes last in the competition. We coach them up and they compete and we start the one that turns out to be the best. Then the one that turns out to be the third best leaves in 2 years and we use his scholarship on somebody else the next year. It's not like we ' lose' a scholarship. We don't know for sure which of one will be best. We like the potential of all of them. Depends on how they develop. And our QB depth is terrible. If they all want to come you can take all three.
Its not always the worst QB that leaves. unless you are saying fergusson was number 4.
Talked to my source today about this situation. All they said was, "I can't say." When I pressed to find out when they could say, they replied, "after the bowl game."
My guess....Peterman is transferring.
Purely a guess though.
I think Peterman staying or transferring makes no difference other than opening a spot. He just gives us almost no chance to win if he is under center, IMO. By all accounts, he is a great kid but he sucks as a QB and this will be addition by subtraction by opening another spot in the 85.

You have to have QB bodies in case of injury.
I specifically said, "I guess I will know on National Signing Day," and they said, "no, probably after the bowl game."
